    |Everyone has listened to some dub, on youtube or own a few lps.

    Anyone experienced live dub?

So the band put out the tunes then the engineer / producer mixes the individual tracks on the desk, adding reverb to instruments or delay to vocals ect..

Can be hit or miss depending on the quality of the band playing firstly and then on the desk-mans skills and some are completely ott and overkill.

any fav youtube clips of live dub in action?

great example here, you don't really get to see the guy on the desk but you can be sure he is adding those reverbs/ delays.

Saw Jah Wobble & the Invaders of the Heart doing live dubs on Friday, pretty impressive.

Seen Adrian Sherwood do live dub many times, always great.

Also seen Scientist and Mad Professor doing "live dubbing" of pre-recorded tracks (i.e. not a live band).

And a few festival acts which were so-so with the obligatory "echoey breakdown" in the middle of half the tunes.

I'll check that video out later...

On a slightly different angle check out Al Breadwinners youtube channel and his live "youplates" - live dubbing exclusives - really rate him
