Little bastards getting bold as brass: A question about Mice

Phototropic said:
Right just been chasing a mouse round my living room. Before it was just a shy poke your nose out and run along the skirting boards scouting mission, but now that its reconnosince mission appears to be complete it is now settling into moving away from the safe zones which means that just now I look up to sit it happilly sitting in the middle of my kitchen floor and appearing to be thinking 'hmm not bad place this, maybe the wife and I should settle down'.

Buggers move fast as well.

So what I was wondering is I have found this on the net:

Indoor Pest Repeller

Now do these things actually work? Anyone have any experience with them?

If not it will have to humane traps and that seems like a lot of faff and I am not sure kea will be happy to find a mouse in a box in the mornings.
I've heard from someone, somewhere, that they do really work.

I sympathise with Photo's problem cause I was in the same position a few months ago. I tried the Sonic Discourager but it was 100% - 110% even - inefective and we couldn't get a cat cause everybody in my house works. We ended up enticing into our home a cat which lives in the same street, and so far she's caught three mice, presenting one of them to us as a present. Still tons of mice around, though, but at least we have a new friend.

nope the sonic mice repeller thingy I tried didn't work either.

If you've only just got mice then now's the time to sort them out - leave it 2 weeks and there'll be loads of the little bastards. get 5 or 6 proper traps asap, block up every hole you can find and get it sorted or you might end up losing a war of attrition to a load of mices and having to move out (kinda humiliating :o ).

If you do use the humane traps make sure you wash them thoroughly ever time you catch one as I'm pretty sure they give off some kind of scent that alerts other mice to the danger... kept catching one mouse, then nothing until I'd washed the trap again.

Other problem with humane traps is when you hear the trap go at night and you've no way of taking the mouse a mile from your house.... ended up flushing the fuckers down the toilet.
