I like her frocks :)

But I don't think she'll be around this time next year and I think she's knows it too.

's'what I think too.

I quite like the whole sassy-bitchy attitude thing and yep, good frocks.

The songs are catchy and fairly amusing but ultimately very disposable. All over before Christmas, I predict.

Who the hell is she ?

Am I supposed to have heard of her. Has she had a hit.

I watch a lot of tele, and read tabloids etc and I've never heard of her.

I quite like that Smile song and was tempted to buy the album.

Is it any good? Or is it a waste of time?

sums it up for me... tbh...

Doesn't the fact that she's often singing flat put you off, LDR?
I find that quite appealing actually in much the same way I'm attracted to Shane McGowan or Bob Dylan voices.

I think she id go to private school as it happens, but really, does it matter? Doesn't make her posh, does it?
Parents send children to private school...it's not something a child has much choice about is it? There are people on my estate doing two or three jobs so their kids don't go to the crap schools round here...all because they want their children to have a better education than they did and have a chance to break out of living on a council estate. In my experience people who bleat on most about poshness and private schools are middle-class people ashamed of their families...very sad.

To me, Kylie playing Glastonbury would be the ultimate insult to it. It should be about new, interesting music, not mainstream pop.

fuck off, allen.

She doesn't do much for me – her voice is devoid of passion. What a stupid thing to say about Kylie – I'm sure Allen, with her own mainstream pop, won't turn down Glastonbury if she's asked to play

Yet people on this very forum have said the same about acts like Coldplay and Rod Stewart playing Glastonbury.

Why should Kylie be any different?

People have said that they're incredibly shite and overrated, not that they shouldn't play at the festival.

And it's the fact that she evidently considers her music to be different from and better than "mainstream pop" that is the real stupidity here.

I would rather see Kylie sing pop than that whining Chris Martin thing.

Same here but that comes down to personal choice.

My point is why is someone a twat because they say they don't want a certain artist playing Glastonbury?

Well, it's usually because they're claiming to be somehow more "proper" - see Kasabian making complete twats of themselves last week about Reading/Girls Aloud, whilst proclaiming elsewhere that their new record will be remembered as being equal to "the greats". Hehe. :D

like tom jones, paul mccartney and rolf harris?

LDN is a great song, Smile's not bad, and I like her frocks and her style.
:)

What's interesting to me about Lily Allen is that she's not quite as good a pop star as she could be. Her voice isn't as strong as it could be, she's not quite as pretty as many of her rivals, and her songs have a kind of ramshackle, slightly unfinished feeling to them. All of which endears me hugely to her - I think if she was super gorgeous, with a brilliant voice, and technically perfect songs she'd be a lot less appealing.

Plus she has great frocks.

Frocks.

Great.

:)

Yeah, I see you point but she's only a kid and I know that I was very narrowminded in my music choices when I was younger. Anything that wasn't metal I thought was crap. :o

I think it's great to see pop stars working their way up rather than relying on who they know/blow.

Well done Lily Allen.

:)
