light graffiti!

:D

It's great fun to do. Everyone should be doing it. Yay for little LED torches. I'm still painting light people in the Placetas of Granada. I'm actually getting quite good these days, but it's a very difficult skill to master.

When I see a light graffiti artist using colours to master a 3D effect then I'll be impressed.

Here's my first attempt:

As documented here back in January on an Art Experiment thread. Got my bag stolen as I recall. That one's not so good. It's simply a case of experimenting.

Learning more.

I'm currently perfecting 3D light sculptures. I say perfecting, but TBH it's fucking difficult.

Get down your sell everything shops and buy some LED torches. Dirt cheap. Some change colour and some do disco stuff

Why thank you Zenie :)

I tried making an animated stop frame film only using light graffiti photos, but it took about an hour to make 2 seconds of film so I gave up.

I can't imagine how long that light painting film took to make!

There's a video online somewhere of someone using a projector, camera and laptop to create massive light-paintings on the side of buildings.

Will try to dig it up - not quite the same as these, but really cool.

e2a: Example here

I don't understand - how does it work?
1. Put camera on tripod.

2. either
a) Set camera shutter to 'bulb' mode and either
i) hold shutter open with wireless remote shutter release
ii) get mate to hold shutter button down
or
b) set shutter to maximum time (usually 30 seconds)

3. Use a constant light (e.g. a torch) to 'paint' with the light

Oh and you'll want to set an aperture that ensure that the background is dark enough for your torch light to show up against, and to ensure that the torch light is bright enough to show up at all...

THE BUILDING ONE WITH THE LASER PEN IS USING A COMPUTER(white board sort of setup) & A PROJECTOR TO PUT THE IMAGE ON THE BUILDING.

hear me now? :D
Yeh, but I wasn't talking about that.

Here's this shit I done, it's a stolen idea and it's lame as fuck

LAME

It's 2-dimensional so might as well just use a brush in photoshop lol

nah mate it's kewl...you DID it...doesn't mattter how you create or even wot you create or even if wot you create in yr eyes is shite...so WHAT!...it's da shizzle in someone elses viddy_cortextual_feelinge bits.

Feel yer ire for those who don't bother or try with easy skillage given the amzingness that pretty much tehy have to hand if they could be arsed. ;)
