I'm not a fan of Islam or any religion, but it does help if you get your facts right.

Try visiting one of your local Mosques. Many of them have open days. I've visited the local Mosque here, and was received very courteously, despite my being a troublesome atheist. (I was told, though, that the one in the next town had become "radicalised", and abandoned by many moderate Muslims who now use the one nearest to me).

I thought the move towards canadian sharia courts had been blocked in 2005. The blocking was mainly due to lobbying by muslim women's groups.

Gay people in support of Israel.

Seems a Bit Weird.

I worked for a few months as a DJ in TelAviv, and many of the venues were gay/mixed nights.

Dunno what's changed in the 15 or so years since then but pretty much every LGBT punter leaving the clubs were pretty scared... Israelis are just as homophobic as the Arabics... often even more so...
