LFC are a bunch of lazy bastards.

Commentators over here tell it like it is.
78 mins gone - "Baros almost went past someone for the first time in the match"
87 mins gone - "Did anyone wake nunez before putting him on"
Newcastle were poor too, a far way from the classic games of a few years back. They have their problems, Dyer got into great positions time after time and was just ignored & then brought off. The passing from both sides was terrible. NU deserved it because they turned up and generally put in some effort tho.

Been to the game. Liverpool were awful. Tactics non existent. Baros spent most of the game falling over and crying to the referee, who being a complete tosser gave everything

Gerrard was Liverpools only remote threat, something like 1 shot on target all game from Liverpool tho (chant of the day re-Gerrard - Chelsea's Number One) and without Gerrard Liverpool seem pretty toothless.

Had a striker being playing alongside Shearer, not bleeding Ameobi, and Kluivert not missed a sitter at the end, it would have been a fair 3-0.

There was a weird spell in the second half where Newcastle passed constantly for about 2 minutes just on the halfway line, Liverpool had no idea how to break the fluid passing up

Carson was crap, probably nerves but had no confidence and made loads of mistakes...Given may have touched the ball, just the once though.

Liverpool are a strange, team, lost more games than Newcastle (obv won more though!) and don't seem to give a toss about their teamates.

Now seen Liverpool and Everton at SJP this season, neither were that great, Everton marginally taking it, only one team has put in a definitive performance at SJP this season, that being Manchester United.

Strange Premiership

I love the premiership! :D

8 points... what was it mmmskybottlers?

'Catchy Catchy'

Could be 14 points after the derby!

The standard, other than the top two, maybe 3 clubs is very poor this year and I think its mainly down to effort/teamwork.
Lots of in-house arguments going on all over the place.

We were shite. We could've got a result, but deserved fuck all. It was like the Man Utd game all over again, but (obviously) against inferior opposition.

Actually thought Blackburn were shite too.

Battle of the bottlers, this 4th place malarky. I didn't see what Moyes said coz I left the bar with seconds to go (thinking how that has worked twice this season for late goals).

Fuck :( I really feel it because we should be 11 points clear.

The RS will beat Blackburn. Then the derby really will be a fucking big game. We need a result. Draw is fine.

You know what, watching that game today, I realise that none of us deserve it.

If we win it by being the least shit, I'll take it.

And I'll try my best to remember my expectations (and yours) from the start of the season.

But I'll be gutted.

We were shit. No excuses. Blackburn were too - and they deserved 0 points, but so did we.

If the redshitheads win the derby, they'll get 4th. I really believe that. Thus, as the derby is at anfield, the whole thing is 50/50 - unless they don't beat the shower of shit that is blackburn.

However, if I was a redshite, I'd hate benitez. Exposed horribly this weekend.

Well in that case Mr. Hate, why didn't you hate Moyes when he only got you 37 points last year?

Why do modern day fans hate managers after less than a year in the job?

Because that wasn't Moyes' fault. He didn't have the 'world-class' players Benitez has available to him, and he didn't do things like sub his only striker with a few minutes to go while 1-0 down.

agreed about the fourth spot. I think it highlights just how shit the Premiership is.

If Everton are the fourth best side in our country on hard work, closing down and not much else then it's a sad day for football. If Houllier's team were a disgrace to football then God only knows what that makes Everton.

I do respect Moyes for taking a rag, tag and bobtail outfit to fourth spot but I would be gutted if I was an Evertonian having to pay £30 to watch utterly dull football. But with respect Flimsier, you don't go to the matches.....just comically hate their rivals with some venom from the comfort of your armchair.

It's a joke that the fourth spot is such a big deal and highlights how European football has swallowed all other competitions up. The FA cup plays a distant second fiddle. Slur Alex was saying the other month that the Premiership is a bit flat compared to the ahem "champions" league.

Asked for Benitez - I'm 100% behind him. I prefer his style of play - ok at times we haven't played well - but I remember going to watch Houllier's team in his first season alone and think we are a better outfit under Rafa. And the fans opinion - well I remember the justified "Houllier ha ha ha ha ha ha" chants from his first season - It's a lot different to the fans songs about Rafa Benitez in his first season with Liverpool.

And asked for your "should hate Rafa"......that just proves how distorted your knowledge really is. It's also hilarious that your hatred has increased 10 fold since we got a decent manager in. Playing shite dull football - you hardly raised your contempt last season - playing decent attractive football and you've started to throw your toys out of your pram! :D

After five years of defensive utter shite footie - it's nice to see us claw deficits back. As an Evertonian, you can only dream of scoring 3 goals in 45 minutes against Olympiakos to progress in the Champions League....winning 3-1 against one of the top German sides - when everyone thought we would lose!

Getting to the League cup final with a threadbare youth team and being 10 minutes away from winning it against a team that has spent around £200m more than us in the last couple of seasons......

This is all in the first season. Ask the Mancs what Slur Alex was like in his first season - or fifth season if you want.... ;)

I'm happy with Benitez even though you are not! :D

Not on Saturday, no. But maybe against Olympiacos, Newcastle at Anfield, Leverkusen, Monaco, Arsenal...

When have Everton under Moyes EVER played attractive football? Answer: Never have, nevr will. It's not in his game plan.

Not too sure why you're judging Liverpool over one season. Bit small minded that. Maybe you should just look closer to home instead of fuelling your obsession with us.

ahhh all the scallys crying about whos shittest: newsflash: you're all scouse fucks - in your face scallies............ :p :p

Skyscraper. I have only been able to find one busy Liverpool forum. They were most pissed off with Benitez on Saturday night, though I can't remember it's address and I doubt I'd be able to get on from work.

Are there any that you post on?

Aston Villa away, last week.

I went to the game and Villa made shitloads of defensive errors. It was hardly attractive for me, but Everton just looked more determined. They were better at closing our players down, finishing and playing as a close unit, and that was about it - no one-touch passing, just a team of 11 bruisers.

I think the main reason why Everton have been up there this season is that they have been really lucky with injuries.

There are some gems among the dross, though.

How much did Cahill cost Everton? £3m? £2m? Got to be one of the signings of the season that…

Agreed - but Bent at £450,000 beats that.

Credit where credit's due - any team that stays in the top four that long deserves it. But let's not dress up their football as anything other than determined chasing down and kick and rush. Their position in the league is progress on last year for sure, but they have sunk to new depths of football. That can't be good long term.

Agreed, Everton aren’t exactly playing fantasy football at the moment, but – and this may sound very stupid – I really don’t think it’s their job to do so at this stage of their development.

If they tried, they’d be tonked every other week and with the subsequent loss of confidence that goes hand-in-hand with inconsistent form, they’d be down there with the likes of Spurs and Newcastle. Maybe lower.

I think Everton have got the basics right first. Add a few more well-selected bargains like Cahill and Bent to the team in the summer and then they can start to ‘play’.
