LFC are a bunch of lazy bastards.

Do you ever have anything interesting to say?

You bumped this thread and added exactly zero content to it. Nice one.

So did you. <Damn ticket buying, going to everygame seasonticket holding blood giving fans>

Had nothing to say tbh, so I felt silence was a good policy.

I really am not a fan of getting rid of managers without letting them have a decent stab..think Benitez has been unfortunate given the squad and injuries he has. However think the telling factor is that Gerrard and probably Alonso are the only two players that would be wanted by Arsenal, Utd or Chelsea....the gap is widening between the pool and these three, when Gerrard goes unless they invest wisely are going to be scrapping around midtable for the next few years rather than challenging.

Beattie is a twat, but I love the RedShites making the most of their easy run-in (Birmingham had lost 5 of last 6) :D

Everton continue their quest to catch Arsenal in third spot with an impressive 8 points from their last 8 games.

You pick on the worst run of our season - and it's still better than you predicted.

Of course, you were going to finish above ManU this season, weren't you?

I worked out that if the Blue shite continue their true form and we continue to do our schizophrenic act, we'll catch you up in around 10 games.

It's going to be close.

We've been unlucky with injuries this season, but are still in the running for fourth spot.

We were shite against the Blues - It's not good.

Biscan wouldn't get into any other Premiership team - what is he doing in our team!? We are missing Alonso too much! If there was one player I didn't want us to lose - it was Xabi Alonso.

With your constant carping about my pre season enthusiastic predictions (I thought all fans did this?) Why don't you let us all know who you think will get that fourth spot?

;)

:D but Benitez was building a team for this season, and it wouldn't be based on or dependant on any player(s). LOL!

Oh, and pre-season predictions we were talking about... well I said we'd finish in the top 13, which you found hilarious. :)

So, as you ask: I've already said, Liverpool are obviously going to finish 4th. I mean, they're clearly world class aren't they? I'm surprised they aren't winning the league.

For the record - I know you like to quote my predictions for some reason - I think it's very tight for fourth spot. If Everton continue their relegation fodder form - they'll have no chance of getting it. Bolton are looking good, Middlesborough have some decent players there. Charlton will be sniffing around. Liverpool have a chance.

Who said Liverpool are world class btw?

Errm, I think you have one very short memory.

oh go and fuck yourself - I've never ever said Liverpool were World class!!

They have three world class players imo. I think that's three more than any of the shite teams you and support!

;)

A very short memory.

So you thought with 3 'world class' players - and you used to claim Hyppia, Baros, Gerrard, Kewell btw - so which have you dropped?

Hence you were going to finish above Man Utd.

I can't blame you for being angry. I would be if I was a Liverpool fan.

Do you not think the continual speculation about G’s future could be a problem?

I mean this whole ‘is he going?’, ‘is he staying?’, ‘look, Mourinho’s shaking his hand’, ‘Gerrard’s very despondent today’…it can’t be good. I wonder how his colleagues feel, always hearing how they’re being ‘carried’ by a ‘one man team’.

I think you're spot on Marshall. You'd think he'd single handedly won every game for us this year, yet I feel we've missed Alonso more than Gerrard.

No way do I want him to leave, but if he was staying then I think he'd come right out and say it. But if he leaves, then 40m in the arse pocket will do nicely - we can get three great players for that amount.

tbh, I'd go for the dosh.

Look at Vieria, all that stuff linking him to Real has done nothing for his form this season.

You must have posted the wrong link, because nowhere in there does it say Benitez has to go, Liverpool are in freefall.

Thread titled 'LFC are a bunch of lazy bastards.'

Still, Benitez can stay now that he agrees with me...
:p

This season hasn't been a complete wash-out. We've clung on in the top 5 despite the endless string of injuries and bad luck we've been plagued with. We've had some good performances against the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea (despite not picking up 3 points thanks to Mike Riley), Olympiakos, 4-2 at Fulham in October, 5-0 at West Brom in December. A 2-1 win at Charlton, and 3-1 at Fulham were unfortunately followed by a terrible performance and 2-0 defeat at Birmingham on Saturday. Bentiez has got to take the more sparkling performances, bottle whatever it is that helps us win, and force it down the necks of our players before every game. Next season will be crucial - and if we don't improve I'm trading me LFC shirts in for Tranmere ones.

I would just like to see the basics, effort etc.

I'm happy with the way we've coped - injuries etc - this season.

To come back and beat teams after being behind has been a joy. I'd forgotten what it was like. Under Houllier 0-1 meant we'd lost or we might sneak a draw.

The Olympiakos game was fantastic! And don't forget we beat the Invincibles! 2-1.

If someone had said that we'd still been in the CL at this stage, I wouldn't have believed them.

I'm happy with the way we are going. It's just a case of getting rid of the shite and replacing them with quality players - and hoping that the younger players will make the grade. It is refreshing to have a manager willing to play home grown players.

Not often enough, too much foreign crap. Dump them all and play the reserves. Take 5 yrs or so but there you go (where were LFC 5 years ago?)

Relahni,

I admire your optmism, but face facts Benitez has a job and a half on his hands, not only has he inherited Houllier's rubbish, he's inherited a lot of his own too :D

I loved his quote today on BBC, all the "underachievers are being looked at and are playing for their future", every one apart from Gerrard eh? :D ;)

BUMP NUFC 1- 0 LFC

Without doubt, the worst performance that I have seen from any liverpool team of any era. The complete lack of effort was bewildering.

I'm not talking about skill, tactics etc, though tactics will get a mention, I am talking about the desire and need to play football. I don't think there was a single player who put in any effort (maybe Carragher if so) and Baros, I have to question why he was even picked. He was a shit.
I have always stood by SG and his rantings, however, I am now of the opinion that for the good of the club he needs to go, along with MB and a number of others. Pellegrino needed to stick out his leg to stop a corner and he just didn't bother.
Nunez came on as a sub and then just stood around. Garcia fell over at every opportunity. This is really fucking poor. I feel for the Liverpool fans that went to the game and paid good money for that, I personally, would have felt robbed.
Now to tactics. Why the fuck did RB pick baros and then play him on his own up front? After his rantings in the press, and he had no foundation for the rantings based on his performances, he has just put the noose around his own neck. Playing one up front means you have to have a shit hot person up there, Liverpool don't have this so the need more than one.
Benitez record

There was not one save made by Given

Speaks volumes.
Rant over, thread bumped with due cause once again.

It's very easy to criticise. What do you suggest we should do, other than sack Benitez?

And who would you have played up with Baros? Cisse? Morientes? Mellor? Pongolle?

Probably right, bit harsh to criticise only one upfront. But the team, it was really dreadful. Don't suppose you managed to catch the game?
Interesting debut from Carson. He was a bit shit to be honest, punched when he should have caught, possibly to blame for the goal though it was a great shot. I would still pick him over doodick tho, at least he has time to learn. I may even go as far as to play him against BL.

Had it on the radio. To be fair, we sounded poor - seemed to have most of the possession but didn't create anything whatsoever. That's been a problem all season - the games we have lost, we have never looked like scoring.

If Everton win tomorrow then 4th spot is almost definitely theirs.
