Levis Roots....his cooking show

Its taken me a while, but now I realise 'Ital' wasn't short for Italian. Ahem, as you were...:o

(I still don't know what it means, just that its not 'Italian':D)

Anyone see last night's?

Just watched on catchup. He was banging on about the sunshine kit again:rolleyes:, made beef pepperpot for his Mum, went to Brighton to make some kebabs, went to a wanky nouvelle place then cooked for the JA high commissioner who has the numberplate I JAM:cool:

When he did the pepperpot he had the little twisty dumplins, he called them spillers/spinners.

Is anyone still watching this?

I'm not sure why I keep going back to it. I always watch it on my own and still find myself cringeing, that sunshine kit and the fisting gesture :hmm:

I can't help thinking he's gone for the wrong angle too. The food he's making isn't the simple food he keeps saying caribbean food is, a lot of it seems all fancy and tarted up.

Just watching the first episode. Looks bloody complicated to me.

e2a: Thankfully I've just this evening bought some of his sauce, so that should be easy enough. ;)

I'm still watching. Enjoying it :)

Complicated?! Reallly?! I haven't tried anything YET but I will. Doesn't seem too complicated to me...and I'm no chef.

Bear in mind I once started on a Delia 'basics' book someone lent me, and I never got beyond the first recipe, an omelette. :D

Actually, in my defence, the second recipe was an Omelette Savoyarde, where there's potatoes involved, and it seemed waaay tricky to get the potatoes to cook in amongst the basic omelette, without messing up one or the other because they cook at different rates. So actually, I think Delia picked the totally the wrong recipe for number two in her book.

Er, you cook the potatoes before the omelette.. :D

I *did* that.

update on tonight's meal: Well, I did some chicken, coated it in Reggae Reggae sauce, cooked some more for a bit. Kind of made it up as I went along, although it seems that's sort of his jerk chicken recipe. Dead simple.

Nom-fucking-nom. :) No wonder he's flogging loads of it.
