Let's make him welcome wherever he plays next year folks !!

Home before your postcards...

It's the scapegoat thread. Burn the witch! You lot are embarrassing and I bet none of you could take Ronaldo in a fight. :D

Ronaldo picks up the ball, kisses it, places it on the spot, smiles at Robinson and.....................................................................................scores. :D

I wouldn't know whether to tackle him or kiss him (as some player said about Beckham once).

All the stick he's about to receive hopefully will make a man of him, but I doubt it.

this thread is class - remember when they all turned on beckham - the 'slitty throats' at west ham, the wishing his kid gets cancer and the general weaponry of the england fans. Same this time, a player that ticks all the boxes, effeminate, plays for man utd but this time is even better because he foreign - this is traditionally my favourite part of a world cup - the 'watching the english implode' stage - media frenzy, irate callers baying for blood on radio stations - seriously this is mint.

As indeed does Ronaldo don't you think ? Players need to realise that, like it or not their actions do affect fans and can , rightly or wrongly spark a "mob mentality" attitude. Rooney's gesture to the cop being another ill judged example, ironically !

I can't stop the stick he'll receive Brockway. Obviously if my team played in the Prem I'd do my best to chastise the chaps, decent fellow that I am :) .

Hopefully it will be the making of him as I said.

But I doubt it.

If Football wasn't such a pansies game nowadays it would be sorted nice and quickly on the pitch by modern day equivalents of Ron Harris, Tommy Smith & Dennis Smith. Mardy boys like Ronaldo wouldn't last five minutes. Take the cheats out of football, allow real tackles and ignore mardy twats rolling about like dying flies !!

He'll be a hero at Ninian Park. :)

Could you take Ronaldo in a fight?

Ronaldo was playing for his country.
Rooney would have done the same if the boot was on the other foot.

I'd blame Sven if anyone for England going home.

We'd lose Joe Cole, but we could live without him. Other nations would lose entire teams :)

I started this thread not to bring into question the right or wrong of Rooney's dismissal but to vent my anger and disgust at a player who has come to typify a lot of what is wrong with football at the highest level these days. No one in their right mind condones stamping, gouging or violent conduct in football. However players like R*****o are increasingly using vile means to achieve their own ends and are getting away with it. If FIFA had any balls they would review footage of all events like this and apply the law accordingly. Yes, suspend Rooney for violent conduct but they also must start to deal with dispicable cheats who take the game to appalling low levels.

this is why i dont like football

"ooh ooh ref he looked at me funny" cue lots of rolling about on the floor clutching a shin shouting out that you leg is now just a crumpled mass of broken bones.... only to be up and about dancing a samba 5 seconds after a free kick has been awarded.

Because he acts like a fairy doesn't mean he can't look after himself, is that where you're going? I agree. Most footballers are working class lads who know how to handle themselves I suspect.

But the point still stands, rolling around and acting like Ronaldo and Cole is cowardly and should be, ahem, stamped out. You don't see Ronaldinho do it, or Requelme for that matter (to a lesser degree).

It's designed to get a fellow player booked or sent off, and is cheating for me.

I doubt anybody gets by in professional football without being able to handle themselves. It's a pretty brutal world.

But I'm not sure I see the point of complaining about people trying to get other players sent off. Firstly, it's too much of an excuse for ignoring the actual fouls that precede such demonstrations - like Rooney's idiot thuggery, for instance. Secondly, I seem to spend much of my time, when watching football games, waving imaginary cards at transgressors on the other side. So why complain when the professionals do it?

totally agree. its some pseudo grassing people up jail crap and its annoying. if my team mate was kicked in bollocks my preferred reaction would be to wack the bloke who did it. seeing as that would get me sent off, the next best thing is to do everything you can to get that arse who did it sent off

Ronaldinho did that waving imaginary card thing to get Lehmann sent off in the CL final.

Sad,

you bunch of sad sun reading, mike parry clones.
picking on a young boy because, the other young boy cracked under the unfair pressure you and your gutter shite press pilled on him..

be ashamed......again

havng watched the footage again and again, Ronaldo seems only to point out the blatant attack on his teamate. He waves no imaginary card, and he doesn't even react to Rooney. As for the wink, well it was a good 40 secs or so after the event and could have been about or to anyone. It could well have been, "see he's easily wound up" but that doesn't mean Ronaldo done fuck all wrong, beyond looking out for a team mate, and Chelski rival at that.
