Leonard Cohen is coming to the UK.

the "cheap" tickets were £50 but they went instantly. on the upside if i suddenly need the money they are already on ebay for £200 each.

£75. i said i would never pay anything near that for a concert ticket.

I once said to my husband

"If Lenny tours, we are fucking going. I don't care how much they are or how far we have to travel, we are fucking going"

And having paid £160 for an opera ticket, £75 aint that bad.

My view also, I would have traveled anywhere in Europe for this gig. :D

He's playing in Lorrach in south Germany on a Friday- think I'll look in to that one. I just can't bear the thought of paying so much to see someome I love as much as him and it being 'a bit shit' cos of ridiculous London venues. Harrrummmph!
(But likewise, it appears I can't just miss it).
I know south Germany can be gorgeous... I know people who live there + July, outside - I think he's playing outside - would be amazing!

Tickets on sale on Monday - really hope it's not fifty quid plus!

When we lived in Germany concert tickets were about half the price of the UK.

The first gig I went to was in 1978 to see Santana at the Messegelande in Hannover, it cost DM20.00, less than a fiver at that time. :D

there were meant to be £50 tickets for the manchester gig, but they were all instantly gone, the whole lot were gone in half an hour

I wanted to go to Manc, but they didn't release the tickets until ten am and I had to be in a lecture...

O2 will do, and like it was said, it may well be his last tour...

I love Leonard Cohen by the idea of watching him play at the Dome is just so wrong!

The reason that the tickets are so expensive is that his agent stole his pension fund. This tour is specifically to fund his retirement.

He has given me immense pleasure for four decades, I happily paid the ticket price. :D

Gonna buy a ticket from a tout, john?

A tout? Don't start me on ticket touts!

No! I work in the business and have very cordial relations with concert promoters across the border in Scotchland. ;)

I keep thinking I saw Leonard Cohen when I was younger but what I am remembering is going to see the film Bird on a Wire in the cinema!

I'm sure I'll be free that day to accompany you ;)

I got a ticket! Something like £48 & it's an outdoor gig in July! Plus I get to stay on a boat after the gig cos it's kind of far away from houses.

Sorry, but 75 quid x 20,000 people  that's a fucking ridiculous retirement sum! And that's just the takings from the 02!

Shame on you Leonard! *bangs on screen*

*rattles keyboard*

But I'm happy :)
