What do you mean by "short"?

It has near unlimted replay value by dint of the meat of the game being in multuplayer.

There will be additional chapters and maps released over time too - if you like the core gameplay mechanics, seems like a great deal to me. If you don't then the length is surely irrelevant?

the multiplayer is what interests me. But I'm told that only half the maps are available for 4x4 play.

Even then you only have the four zombie types you can play.

I think it looks like a good game, but not full price game. Perhaps something better suited to a package like the orange box.

Problem is that most people have the Orange Box now, or at least the majority of it's components.

That said, I understand that there is to be an "uber" Valve release on Steam, which will be Left 4 Dead, everything in the Orange Box, all the paid add-ons, Peggle and other bits etc for $99.


PC only though at this stage.

Just played this some more having played the demo and I'm not that impressed - it's just far too repetitive. I am playing single player rather than online campaign, but still it seems very meh - if the bad guys weren't zombies then it would be an average game at best.

Compared to say COD4 it sucks.
