Led Zeppelin: A Confession

I used to love Led Zep, and Led Zeppelin IV is still a great album, but I can take or leave most of their stuff. They're not awful, just not my kind of thing any more.

So who do you listen to now, when you just want to rock out ??

No fans of their folk-rock period on Lex Zep 3 etc then? Still seems fresh to this day.

Yeah, me. I like most of Zep 3, especially "That's The Way." I find it amazing now that they released an album so different from their previous two; in these days of corporate control I doubt that bands would be allowed to do that once they'd reached the big time.

Has no one mentioned the infinite number of studio albums and bootlegged jams of Jimi Hendrix?!

My god, the man is captivating...and IMO even more intense and intergalctic than Jimmy Page at playing guitar. Not to mention that Mitch Mitchelle is one of the most undersrated drummers ever.

One particular song that pops up when I think of intensity is Stone Free (live at the Filmore East)

That being said, I've outplayed my Zeppelin Live at Royal Albert Hall DVD
