I say again - what is the point that you are making?

I say again - what have I said that you find difficult to understand? Perhaps you'd like to quote the post or posts you find obscure.

I think Divisive Cotton is referring to the constant criticisms/snipings from you about the march and towards anyone angry at Israel's actions etc. You never actually get to the point of what you think about what is going on (as far as I can see..)

The onslaught on Lebanon is horrific. Does anyone, even those who are fans of Israeli policy, not think that?

I also loathe Islamism and despise the support for Islamism from much of the 'left'.

The dishonesty of those (like the Social Workers) who want to destroy Israel but, when trying to drum up support from more decent people for their march, deliberately omit to mention their agreement with and alliance with the likes of Hezbollah is a bad joke.

Was any of that not clear from, for example, my posts on this thread?

Hmmm...

If the slogan had been 'We are all Lebanese', it would have been easier to accept your interpretation.
There was a picture of a dead child beneath the text, which is why I interpreted it the way I did.

JHE said:
Still, you were there and if you think the slogan was not meant as a clear expression of support for Hezbollah, I expect you're right. ;)
Sadly there were other (very clear) messages of support for Hezbollah at the demo, both from individuals on the march and from some speakers at the rally.
:(

I had a placard from the green party which read "stop gloabal warring" which summed up my thoughts quite nicely. There were also expressions of support for the israeli peace movement and apparently there was at least one rabbi on the march as well.

What was the response of the other people on the march and at the rally to the clear expressions of support for Hezbollah?

The York event was larger than expected, 150-200 people, began as a rally but later turned into a march. Fair mix of pacifists, lefties and Muslims, didn't see anything particularly objectionable. Was co-organised by PSC and the local anti-war group.

apparently there was a group of Rabbis and they walked 3 hours from Hendon to get there (because it was the Sabbath they couldn't take public transport).

The same as that of the police, we ignored them. I spoke to a few other marchers and none of them seemed too happy about it. Mind you, there are always groups I fundamentally disagree with on such marches, and there is no point starting arguments or confrontations with everyone.

Right, so you just ignore the dodgy dvd's and the support for anti-working class organisations such as Hezbollox and march side by side in solidarity-classic.

No, I didn't 'just' anything. I certainly did not 'march side by side in solidarity'.

What I did was to go and demonstrate against Israel's actions and our own government's inaction. It's hardly my responsibility if a group which I disagree with does the same. What did you do on Saturday? Did you oppose the pro-hezbollah demonstrators?

I'm constantly bumping into people who I strongly disagree with. If I started having arguments on the street with every group of people I disagree with, I'd never get anything done.

I'm not sure they were rabbis - just regular Satmar (or members of another anti-Zionist Hassidic group).

E2A: like Neturei Karta, apparently a split from the Satmar - though that's from a Zionist source.

The 'We Are All Hezbollah' placards were delightful.....
Membership, support or fundraising for Hezzbollah is a criminal offence in the UK with sentences of up to 14 years. If the turnout was 20,000 an the slogan was true then the UK will need to build a lot more prison cells very quickly.

So ... how many pro-hezbollah posters can you all see in those photos?

This one here far right, placard of the Hezbollah leader..

Yep, thats one.

There's also two or three of the already mentioned ironic 'we are all hezbollah' poster which showed the victims of Israeli airstrikes to be women and children rather than hezbollah fighters.

Any others?

How many posters are there in total?

Stop the War have called for another demo. This one will stop the war, promise.
Have they? What are the details? I've not heard anything (unless you're referring to the demo outside the Labour conference in Sept which had been planned all along).
