I have a slightly worn leather jacket. As the weather starts to get colder and damper I will be thinking about starting to wear it again. What I like about them is that they are dual outdoor and indoor garments. You can walk out into the weather and just by zipping it up be warm and dry. But you can walk in out of the weather and not have to take it off and hang it up as you would with a waterproof or outdoor coat.
I have leathers. I feel nekkid going out without one on (unless I'm in a suit for work).
Camden is the place to go for those on a budget or looking for something 'retro'. But some retro prices are .
I've been looking at a 50's D-jacket . The stall holder wants £250 for it. It's been there a year. Most weeks I drop by and offer £120. Each time she smiles and says "No!". I tell her it'll still be there in another year. She smiles and shrugs.
I got a leather pea coat a couple of weeks ago. If I had the money I'd get someone to make a covert coat out of leather. Still have the Antartex Tony Gubba-style sheepskin coat I bought in 1990, only it is a bit er tight round the middle these days
