League 2 Thread

Third Place and still unbeaten ! Still too many draws for my liking and we're conceding too many goal right at the end of the games as well . If this carries on the best Wycombe can hope for is a playoff place IMO !

we just seem to be going for the draws record at the moment. Another exciting one today.

You've taken on our mantle from last season then - 21 was our tally, two short of equalling the all time record.

Now we've gone back to losing

All note Grimsby riding high in 2nd place. Should slap the southern chops of Torquay with wet haddocks today, and if County slip up at Shrewsbury... :)

So, other supporters of perpetually crap bottom division teams (we're shit and we know we are, so don't bother telling me :p ), who's optimistic about the coming season?
.

2nd place after 11 games , apart from chelsea the only team in the entire football league not to have lost . I'm fairly happy so far :D

edit - drawing too many games though , there are at least 3 games where we've conceded late equalisers that I can think of :(

and Sheffield wednesday are after Tyson :( which is a bit shit because he's scoring like a bastard at the moment but £500,000 wouldn't go amiss !

Where are Wednesday going to come up with half a million quid from?  I thought they were financially screwed.

Don't know ! I'd rather he stays at Wycombe though . apparently there was a premiership scout at the Wycombe-Villa game ! Tyson would certainly be a good buy for whoever does get him , hopefully he'll score fuck loads of goals before that happens so we are in a good position for playoffs/automatic promotion !

he's scored the same amount of league goals as all our other players combined

I reckon you should hang on to him for a bit. Too many lower divisions teams cash in the first big offer they get on a good player. If he keeps it up you could get promoted and then get more money for him.

The wednesday offer of £500,000 was turned down in the summer , although the move has only just been in the local paper so I don't know if they have put in another offer which is strange because I didn't think you could do transfers at this stage of the season

I think you can arrange for the signing to go ahead in the transfer window in advance, so the new player can play as soon as possible.

That makes sense . I don't want to see him go though :(

In my experience (and probably yours) it's probably just a matter of time. He does seem to be cut above and those players soon move upwards. It's a shame but it comes with being a small club. :(

To be honest it's such a long time since we had a really good player that I've forgotten what it's like to have clubs chasing after them . The last one I can remember is Steve Guppy ( incidently the only person who's played for Wycombe to go on and get an England cap ) the first season after we got promoted from the conference !

Chelsea aren't in the Football League though, they buggered off to some fancy dan new fangled showbiz affair which isn't half as interesting and is haemorrageing support fast

I'm still stuck in the old 4 division era !

The premiership is killing football :(

No, the prem is killing itself, football will be fine :)

problem is people see the prem as football so the damage they do will impact on the lower leagues IMO . And the media really don't help matters , every sunday I go to read the game reviews the big clubs get big half page write ups and the smaller prem clubs get a couple of columns at best and below the championship you get almost fuck all :( But I don't think the observer is really that good a paper for sports anyway !

Hmm, yeah. That was the worst game I've seen for a very long time. If there was any justice it would have been 0-0. Still, best of luck, I'd rather you won than Grimsby.

One other thing though, I was expecting a lot more from Tyson. He barely looked a Third Division player, let alone a premier league one. I suppose he must have been playing a lot better that that recently to have scored so many goals and got all the attention.

Best strike pairing in the league and the arrival of a new manager imminent. The smart money is on either Keith Curle or John Ward apparently.

No reason for posting, other than that I'm a very happy Orient fan and I want to get this thread back to the top. ;) :)

Then you'll be pleased at yesterdays result and Wycombes return to the top spot

*bangs on screen*

whats happened to all the other League 2 fans out there ?

*bangs on screen again*

4 points clear at the top , although it's still close so there is a lot to still play for , unless you support lincoln then you can hope for mid table mediocrity at best :p

Probably true. But on the upside I get to laugh at William at Offline tonight. I bet no-ones told him the score yet. :D
