The Taliban despise the Iranian govt, as they are ideologically at loggerheads. Taliban follow the Wahabi saudis (and their money) who call the Iranian Shiaa led govt apostates. As such, the Iranians are unlikely to arm a group of people who would gladly terrorise them with the same weapons.

Exactly. Have a look at Gilligan's blogs at the Torygraph and you'll see the same things from commenters. For someone who claims that he isn't a racist, he allows loads of them to comment unmoderated on his blog. Anyone who is critical of his 'standard' of journalism is removed immediately.
