Once a week, but several loads at a time. Used to be spaced out more, but we got a tumble dryer to kill the polar bears and penguins with.

Yeah, there is a separate knickers and socks wash for the lady of the house

Srsly - she's the 4th woman I've lived with and generates more laundry on a weekly basis than any of them :D

how do you dry it all? i've asked this before, but we have a clothes airer, tow radiator airers over the living room door and another two on the actual radiators, and we still have to end up throwing things over the tops of the wardrobe doors if we have more than one load drying at once. Plus, it takes three days for clothes to dry if we use the dehumidifier - and a week if we don't.

Mr. QofG's complains about that with me!!:D

But I have to point out that he wears suits, which don't need cleaning everyday, and walks to work whereas, especially in summer, by the time I have been into London on the train/tube/bus and out again there are times when I feel like putting myself in the washing machine not just my clothes!

However he is justified about the fact that dirty socks, bras and knickers don't live on the bedroom floor :o..... even though I was going to take them to the washing basket I just haven't got round to it yet!!

Got a neat routine of every two weeks now. The key is to buy enough clothes to last that long without looking ridiculous.

when I run out of clothes. :D

I hate the launderette, the machines don't wash your clothes properly, so I do a variety of handwashing aided by a spin dryer or taking washing to friends and relatives when I go and see them. :)

I use a tumble dryer spangles ;)

Re: drying - we're lucky enough that our airing cupboard is big enough to have a clothes rail, so we just hang stuff up in there and let it dry. Takes 2 days tops during the summer when the boiler is largely off, about 6hrs in the winter when the central heating's on.

Failing that, we dry stuff over the radiators.

Glad to hear I don't suffer alone in this way then...

So much laundry!
I loathe it. It's the most time consuming, tedious thing ever.
I will suffer doing two loads of washing a week, I dry it on the radiators and sometimes will use teh clothes airer if I've got extra to hang out. If I'm doing towels or bed sheets I might go to the launderette to dry them as they take long to dry and are fluffier if tumble dried.
God I hate laundry. But I like having clean clothes :(

I probably average a load a day for me and two kids.....I do have to odd day or two without here and there (HURRAH!!!! ) but then I quite often do two a day, too. Oh and I have a machine that takes a large load too.

I seriously HATE washing*....it NEVER ENDS!!!

*and shaking out/hanging up/taking down/folding up/putting away...

Oh I'm with you Shifty...I'M WITH YOU!!!

I dry on radiator airers and an inside stand up airer and now, in my new house, on an outdoor rotary airer too.

My old place had a line over the bath, which I have to say is my preference (although it does mean leaving a window slightly open, even in winter), but I have a shower here, so not worth putting one up.

Currently the washing machine is kaput, and I haven't the dosh to get it fixed. So it's handwash in a bucket. Which means I pretty much have to do at least some laundry every day just to keep up.

and shaking out/hanging up/taking down/folding up/putting away...

That is the bit I hate. I don't mind the gathering, the sorting, the putting into one machine and transferring to another (especially now they are one on top of another rather than at either end of the room) but the folding. And sorting. And putting away. It's bloody bleak is what it is

Is that like a washing line?

:D

And you don't even have to suffer all the drying nonsense!!!

I do two types of wash....whites/lights and everything else....and I get absolutely fucking LIVID if someone adds something to the basket which would have gone into a wash I've just done...which they do, virtually EVERY TIME!!!

'Sorry, mum... ' :D

Google, dear.... :p

Once a week, Friday night or Saturday morning is when I wash clothes I've worn to work that week and maybe a few others.

Sometimes I do a wash in the week if I've extra things that need doing.
Bedclothes I wash on another occasion, every few weeks or so
I'm a bit grungy ;)

Need to get a Brabantia rotary airer ahead of next year. I have a brabantia wall mounted one which I’m very happy with but I’ve put a shed in front of it so I will be removing and selling it soon.

Want to stick with Brabantia as was happy with this one and I get a lot of joy from drying laundry outside

Are the top spinner / liftomatic ones worth paying extra for? Any views? May see if there are any Black Friday deals :hmm:
