The headliners really are a disappointment this year, especially considering how expensive tickets are.
The great thing about latitude is the effort they put into the aesthetic of the site. All the cool projections in water on the lake? That was awesome. But so many people are reeled in by the comedy headliners only to find that the comedy tent only fits like 700 people in it, making it practically pointless to try and catch any of the main acts (speaking as somebody who missed Dylan Moran in 2007 and Bill Bailey in 2008, for this reason!).
I want a festival with a non-pretentious atmosphere, a diversity of people attending and tickets for less than £100. So much to ask?
Woah, I'm not concerned with massive headliners but I've seen Eat Static and Six Nation State a few times (both at Whirly Gig) and if that's the kind of vibe EIID are promoting, I am *there*. Thanks dude
Had a look at 'Scumpy Sunday' feature too. Any place that gives men an opportunity to realise that dresses don't bite makes me smile, I must say
(This has absolutely nothing to do with my interest in cross-dressers. Honest.)
