In 1980 I believe it was the famed US Civil Rights crusader Bayard Rustin sadly took up their cause and finally made his way to Israel. After a very long and investigative process he determined without a doubt that racism was NOT the cause of the difficulties faced by the D'monah group who was by then calling themselves "The Black Hebrews."
The members of the group refused to pay taxes, have been charged with masive child abuse ases, and so on although as time goes on one sees some of the community moving tawrds traditional Judaisim, as with the Black Hebrew member who won on Eurovision and then prposed to his Israeli girlfriend, believe his name was Eddie Butler. He is now moving towards Orthadox Conversion and so it goes...one way or another they become Jewish more and more.
