It's a bit like when someone refers to "cod-philosophy" or "cod-psychology".

Basically it refers to uninformed, talking-from-arse, inaccurate drivel from people who don't even have a first clue about the subject material. Hence the "cod-left" - which has actually managed to form (cringe-inducingly stupid and point-missing) political doctrine out of such practises. It's sort of like saying "the pretend left" or "the plastic left".

It's sort of like saying "the actual left", the people who try, imperfectly, to get things done, as opposed to the people who know exactly how things could be done, who despite this knowledge are numbered in the region of one and who don't do anything except slag off the former group.

I'll give you a reason for starters: his idiotic campaigning for them to be foisted on London despite the horrendous effect they'll have on the quality/cost of life for Londoners - especially those who are least well off. He could have championed the poor by campaigning against the bid, but oh no - he threw his full weight behind the stupid games. I'll never forget his shitty propaganda rag boasting that "support for olympics soars" (or words to that effect) - funny, 'cos I don't eveer recall being asked whenether we wanted the lympics. Just endless opportunities to "TEXT 'YES' To *****"" with no opportunity to register a vote against.

Most of Livingstone's apologists just try and tar anyone who opposes him as being some sort of tory. The screeching that comes from some of them at the very idea of anyone daring to stand against him in election - as if it was some sort of abuse of proceedure - just sickens me, tbh.

Interesting letter from Kishwer Falkner Lib Dem, House of Lords in The Guardian today accusing them of falling for propoganda from 'Mr Livingstone's office' in regard to Muslim backing for Ken. MCB and MAB not signatories to the support for Ken.

Expect more dirty tricks and accusations in the run up to the election. Latest media news is Boris is only 1% behind Ken, whether this is true is anyone's guess.
