Late Interviewees!

i did once turn up 24 hours late for an interview once, it was for waterstones, a temporary job - i didn't get it:( but rang them up and they offered me another temp job anyway - hooray!!

No answer to my mail as yet

that agency needs to do some quality boot licking to get more of your business, a nice lunch would be a good start, plus xmas is coming and that

or are they a really specialist agency, and can afford to fuck you off as no one else can help you :(

Nope - but to be honest I won't hold it against them. They've found me a candidate with a CV that looks the part and got an interview arranged. Short of marching the fella here what else could they do.....

still hold out for a nice lunch then

put on your sulky face

Well I had an interview last Monday, turned up promptly with five minutes to spare, and then sat in reception whilst the previous candidate's interview overran by 30 minutes. No apology.

It was quite funny in hindsight because after the interview, on my way out, the receptionist came over to me as I was putting my coat on and said 'They're a bunch of bastards here'.

The agency eventually got hold of him and he'd decided to stay where his is. Where there are presumably no phones or manners. Name stored for when he CV does the rounds again in a month or two.

It's a silly thing to do - you see the same CVs on a cycle, next time he get's touted I won't bother. Ex-colleagues will always ring to see if you've heard of someone they've been offered too. It's a small world.

plus, he might have been asking for more money from the current lot, waved the possibility of him moving on, and they caved in and gave him extra moolah

We have had a lot of late arrivals and no shows for interviews this year.

I know people are busy but I always try and arrive very early for interviews. In fact if I have time I will normally have a practise run before the day so I know the journey already.

fail to prepare
prepare to fail

I always turn up early for interviews

except for that one time, when i was on the interview panel, and was delayed on the tube getting from manor house to paddington, it was a hot day, but also raining, and i had a cagoule(?) on, so was sweating a lot on the hot tube, got to the office, took off the cagoule as the interviewee was already sitting down, my light blue shirt and turned dark blue with sweat:o and sweat was dripping off me

she was supposed to be the nervous one:D

So you still looking for someone to do the job?

I'll have a stab. You probably needs shit loads of stuff. Where's my £360?

Tis very bad form to turn up late for an interview.

When I am interviewing, if you turn up late, you have to have a good excuse or be amazing for me even to consider you.

I am the same as Badger and will try and do a trial run, or will aim for arriving at least 30 mins early.

One interview I arrived 24 hours early!!!

Fine, happens all the time but the courtesy of a phone call should not be beyond anyone.
