Many thanks for the advice (both good and bad stories!), really taken the edge of the anger. Have written and sent the letter (and one to the manager of the estate agents). Will be meeting with one of the other flatmates this weekend and he's going to write a letter too. Tbh not really feeling like this is going to be succesful but you never know...

yea definately get it sent by registered post so you know if it gets in their mits or not.
