I'd really like to share your optimism SK, but for a neutral like me Liverpool have been far from convincing this season.

Turned over by Everton and abjectedly rolled over by an unconvincing Utd side. And money wasted on predominantly lightweight, average players - Zenden and Pennant in particular. Squad depth's one thing, but none of the signings inspire that much positive feeling for me. It's not progress as I'd like to see it.

Zenden was on a free and is just cover, Pennant was a gamble, the jurys still out on him. The slow start to the season is more down to key players like gerrard, Alonso and Carra having a WC hangover. We've had a lot of new players into the first team, they'll need time to settle, the season's young yet.

That was the bitchiest, most pathetic game of football I've ever seen.

Diving is ruining football and the hypocrisy of the players/managers who criticise their opponents and ignore the antics of their own team is a disgrace. That was the only game I can remember where I started watching as a neutral and ended up wanting both teams to lose.

The only player that came out of the game with any credit for me was John Terry for kicking the ball at Deco after he had thrown himself to the ground for about the third time inside a minute, I've wanted someone to do that to the cheat for years and I loved the way Deco went from writhing in agony to on his feet and in Terry's face in the space of about two or three seconds. What a terrible advert for the game

Anyone explain how Terry wasn't sent off imediately after that??
When Deco confronted him, Terry clearly grabbed Deco round the throat with both hands.
Am I mistaken in thinking that if you as they say 'raise your hands' to an opponent it usually means a red card?
To actually grab someone round the throat and hold for 5 or 6 seconds surely warrants some form of card at least??

I think the ref probably sa that it was a storm in a eacup. He saw Deco dive, and then it was a load of girly nonsense.
