Lampard - what a goal!

pleat didn't think he meant it. 'he just aimed it past valdez to the back post.'

rubbish paedo

did anyone see terry when gudjohnsen scored? not looking good for england!

Well the chelski game is often the live game over here, and drogba always seems to score. he scored against us in both games last season, for instance.

Call me thick, but hasn't drogba been scoring loads of goals for the last couple of seasons?
Depends what you mean by 'loads' but he's certainly got his fair share, and he also contributes to a lot of goals by his teammates. That's why Mourinho likes him so much, because he plays for the team and not just for himself. He's got better each year and at this rate he'll be player of the season, easy.

he's been very impressive but i still have this overriding feeling that he is one of the biggest cunts you could be unfortunate enough to meet

That was the bitchiest, most pathetic game of football I've ever seen.

Diving is ruining football and the hypocrisy of the players/managers who criticise their opponents and ignore the antics of their own team is a disgrace. That was the only game I can remember where I started watching as a neutral and ended up wanting both teams to lose.

The only player that came out of the game with any credit for me was John Terry for kicking the ball at Deco after he had thrown himself to the ground for about the third time inside a minute, I've wanted someone to do that to the cheat for years and I loved the way Deco went from writhing in agony to on his feet and in Terry's face in the space of about two or three seconds. What a terrible advert for the game :(

Heard on the radio that (according to FIFA statistics) the ball was only in play for 45% of the game...Loved the game! They hate each other, and instead of playing each other off the pitch, they decided to throw their handbags...

Pretty funny match really - nice goal from Lampard.

Plus points: Xavi looked like he's getting back to form, Deco starting to play well, Ronny remembering what to do, Zambrotta starting to come good

Minus points: Eidur's injury just as he was hitting form, defensive wobbles from Motta and Marquez, Rijkaard swapping the formation when he bought Iniesta on

add 'rijkaard completely losing it' and 'everybody diving' to the minus points and you're there

The diving...yep not good, but Jose taught Deco all he knows :D

As for Rijkaard :D :D Might have helped if the ref had explained that Lampard had been booked first time out, not A. Cole. I liked his "I just wanted to congratulate him for the way he handled the game" argument.

Frank's under pressure no doubt - history dictates retaining the CL is tricky and the league must be a priority with some tricky games coming up. With Eto'o out and Eidur injuring himself his options are looking pretty limited right now.

Next to Chelsea, Real Madrid must seem like Barcelona's best friends nowadays. No love lost between the Chelsea boys and the Catalans... :D

That was great stuff last night, really niggly and nasty, but lots of skill, great goals and a killer finish. Hope they meet again in the final!

would be good for drama but depressing in terms of football

Not for me. I thought the football was good last night. I might be weird, but I can't stand that prissy stuff that the likes of Arsenal play!

Arsenal generally play good football. Prissy would be the eight or nine players on the pitch last night who fell over screaming whenever someone walked past them or, heaven forbid, actually attempted a tackle.

Yep, I thought it was a cracker myself. A bit of blood and thunder, a bit of niggly handbags, some great goals and sublime skills. What the fuck more do people want?

Apparently Steve Gerrard's missus has been hanging around with the head of a group of Liverpool Bouncers, called "Pancake". News is that Pancake has been supplying her with coke and slottin' her one on the side. Gerrard went to the Editor of the Daily Mirror to beg them not to print the pictures they have of his missus snorting and they agreed to hold off on them as it would ruin his career. Gerrard is meant to have kicked her out last Wednesday and has ordered a DNA test for his second child as he believes that it isn't his (may explain his performances this seaon)

wildly dubious source but i thought it was quite funny. pancake! :D

goals aren't everything though. are they?

Quite, I'd rather have gerrard than 3 lampards.....the gulf in class in my opinion is massive.....

shame I think Gerrard has said off record that he'll never go to Utd as long as he's got a hole in his arse....or words to that affect:(

it looked to me like Lampard's goal was totally intentional.

Bloody cocky to have a go at a lob from that angle - ridiculous in fact.

Bloody typical - during the world cup he couldn't hit he target from anywhere.

How does a thread about Lampard's goal and last night's match descend into yet more bickering   between deluded LFC and Everton fans.

Everton are a top 8 side at most and will constantly fail in Europe
Liverpool aren't good enough to win the Premiership

Now go back to your own thread:D

No, but Cahill's been far better than Gerrard this year.

Fuck knows why sleater's desperately searching through history for old stats
So footballers are judged on a couple of months, not their whole career?. He gets better every day.

:D

They're worse than William of Walworth and Phil Dwyer. Like being caught in the middle of a messy divorce.

Dunno. I was just answering Chris's question and sleater came in all half-arsed again.
