Yes, that is correct.

; Chelski's'money is a gift from a Russian Oligarch. Not much between 'em.Players v Players - Chelsea shade this one by having some of the Premierships scummiest individuals
Fans v Fans - got to admit, United's are the worst (and I'm one of 'em)
Owners v Owners - United's money comes from honest to goodness international brand building; Chelski's'money is a gift from a Russian Oligarch. Not much between 'em.
It'll have to go to penalties
You should go back to bashing your head against the desk, might do ya some good.

"Theatre of Dreams"
My theory on Lampard is similar that for Beckham; take enough long range shots/free kicks and the law of averages states you'll eventually score one. It doesn't mean you're that good at it though.

Manchester United? Just another fucking commodity to be bought and sold on the global market.

To be honest, I don't mind some Man Utd fans. The ones that go to the games - the real football fans, I can have a good chat about football with, I've got no problem with - well, apart from the team they support. I do sympathise with them in terms of Glazers and their fellow fans, like Revol68 etc.

so on one hand you bitch about the commercialisation, the pricing out of 'real fans' and then on the other hand dismiss those that can't afford to spunk the guts of 200 quid on a football match as not 'real fans'. Those that can afford it are no doubt all the 'prawn sandwhich brigade' and those that can't are 'plastics'. Seems like United fan's can't win either way, something driven by the bitterness of second rate rivals.![]()

No you misunderstand.
The "proper" Man Utd fans I know, hate twats like you, hate the Glazers and have one eye firmly fixed on FC United - because of the Glazers and twats like you.
And they are from the North West and not Cornwall, Surrey or some foreign country.
, a country that has given Manchester United and many many other top english clubs a whole host of talented footballers. Christ, English clubs have had Irish followings for years, not suprising since any playerof talent from these shores heads straight to the 'mainland' (yeah yeah suck it down chucks).Of course this whole argument is pathetic, it's football, it's a past time, something we do because we enjoy it, it's not a 'religion' despite the rhetoric, there is no great achievement or sacrifice in going to a match, no reason to pat yourself on the back like a smug twat.
that's actually quite an interesting point you make rev. Before the advent of the Super Sky Sunday Smackdown you would have rarely, if ever, have seen your team play. Certainly not live. Would you be able to call yourself a Man Utd fan if that was the case? If your sole experience of "supporting" them was reading about them in the paper? Or listening to the radio? Or watching highlights on MOTD? If you had NEVER seen a game from start to finish, except for maybe a Cup Final? You would have had trouble holding down a conversation with somebody who actually went to the games... Sky is the whole reason that you can support your team. Not necessarily anything wrong with that but football on the telly is a completely different pastime to actually going.
See, the thing is, a lot of football isn't actually anything to do with what goes on on the field... it's getting together with people, having a few drinks, walking to the ground, singing songs, winding up the opposition, getting a dodgy pie at halftime, moaning, cheering and all the rest of it. It's not sitting in front of a screen. It's a group activity.
Sorry to be long winded about it but you're missing out on about 75% of what football is all about.
Oh, and you also have to sit through those ridiculous poem things that Sky have started doing. You don't get those in the ground. (Actually, you might at Old Trafford.)
christ but you are a patronising prick, you think I've never been to a fucking football match? And yes tonnes of people have followed teams by the medium of radio, newspaper and a few highlights. The thing is that increasingly the pub has taken over from the ground for many people, especially since you can stand, drink and have a bite to eat for change of a twenty all in the company of your mates, instead of paying 35 quid to sit in increasinly atmosphereless grounds, this isn't just something that 'plastic' fans have noticed but something many long term season ticket holders have to, which is why there is no longer a waiting list for United season tickets. For someone on an average wage with responsibilities it must be damn near impossible to justify the amount of money spent in order to properly follow a PL team, especially with shit like Automatic Cup Schemes, as such the pub is increasingly the more attractive option.
which football matches did you go to rev?which football matches did you go to rev?

So then you go with your mates somewhere else?
I think Cogenhoe United have a home game soon![]()

whilst i'd hasten to call it 'football', Larne FC.
saying that the atmosphere in the pub for a PL game is better than that at a Larne match.

that may well be true... do you ever fancy making the "pilgrimage" to the "theatre of dreams"? I reckon it'd be slightly different to Larne, altho better or worse I couldn't say.
At least it'd shut us lot up.
