I can't see them doing this. Even stuffy Westminster lets people have a can in Soho Sq when they don't feel like paying £4.50 for a pint of pub lager!

Its one of our favourite summer things to do having a beer in Kennington or Brockwell park in the evenings.

id imagine this will be implemented the same way it is in wetsminster and camden

officers have the power to steal your booze if they believe that you are likely to cause anyone distress, but they also have the discretion to completely ignore

which is why if you look a bit scruffy, poor, black then theyre likely to not just take your booze but publically humiliate you by trying to force you to pour it away youself

but if your white, clean cut and knocking back chablis in soho square after work (as many people do) theyll ignore it

Just to be clear, what would happen now in Brockwell Park if I were to pile up there with several bottles? If I had a picnic for example, would we be told to stop drinking? Or can this only happen when the new laws come into effect?
