They said it might be - I think it's temperamental. And there was a lot of not getting through to the right people. I only got through to a caretaker cos I insisted on speaking to the people who were actually going to do the job

lambeth council drive me nuts, especially parking services. they have 2 offices for the entire borough, and when you go in there's only one window open with half a dozen people milling about doing nothing in particular in the back (on one occasion one of them was staring at the wall). they're just so effing lackadaisical they couldn't give a toss about making everyone wait for hours for the privaledge to pay them yet more money for bad service. Each and every time I go there i'm freshly amazed that the place hasn't yet been torched by the mob... p.s. a small tip: the only time of day they get busy is just before closing time when they all want to leave on time. get there 15 mins before closing and you may just get reasonable service.

You should try working for the fuckers. LB Lambeth is one of the worst councils that I ever had the misfortune to work for. I often found myself doing the job of 3 people. Most of those that I worked with were either lazy, thick or incompetent. In most of the Neighbourhood Offices, I would often find only 8 people in an office where 21 are supposed to be working.
