When they steamed through the village green a cuple made a half hearted attempt at thieving. One stole an empty wine bottle from us and wasmet with derisive laughter.

We were hoping they were just showing off, sad to hear of a stabbing. About normal for the Country how though, looking forward to carrying on with the Chucklehead as normal today, especially with the mighty Little Roy & Johnny Clarke on the line up.

Yawn, not long awake, red wine hangover and in Kent so a few hours from the park I reckon.
Sounds like a good day yesterday, hoping for fair weather today :)

I don't do "wandering". Whenever I go anywhere, I weigh up the time it's going to take v the benefits of going there. If the ratio of effort:reward is measurable and positive, then I'll go, do what I have to do, then go home again.

Bimbling for the sake of it, alone, is not something I generally choose to do.

Go on AJ, live on edge. Throw caution to the wind and come and meet some urbanites at the Country Show. They don't bite. :)

If I lived closer, I would probably come and bimble (I love that word, and can't remember the last time I used it!), but I don't live close, so I am not.

In fact, I don't seem to be able to get to any urban75 meets these days!

OUch
Chucklehead broke my husband :(

Didn't even see interesting vegetables, was too busy downing dodgy cider.

 at self

Right - well, I'm sorry if this is too personal - but all these things you "don't do" or choose not to do - don't seem to be making you very happy. You frequently say how unhappy you are with life or complain about your situation. Maybe you could try doing things a little differently - what's the worst that could happen?

Anyway, far be it from me to twist your arm. I'm off to see RubytooGood receive some pretty illustrious prizes for her incredible crochet in the flower/cake tent!

I was going to come up, but I'm suffering a little from yesterday's over indulgence of cider and am trying unsuccessfully to get son number 2 into the bath.

We shall be out and about later because i said we'd go look at the animals.

I've just been out to cut the grass (and remove a bag of rubbish someone thankfully seems to have dumped outside my front door, flies and all) and have come to the conclusion it's far too hot for me to be going out anywhere for the next few hours.

Yesterday was absolutely stonking! I seemed to miss quite alot of urbs but also saw lots and had a lovely time with the ones I saw :)

We ended up getting pretty cidered up and am amazed we managed to make it to Offline as we were steamin'......!

Atomic Suplex - triple yay!

The reggae on the main stage all day was bloody amazing - what a vibe :)

Was gonna come out today as well but am just feeling a tad too delicate after last night!

CONGRATULATIONS to the STAR of the SHOW who will be getting her trophy this VERY MOMENT! :)

have managed to stagger out of bed

I am always a sucker for a bargain and a gallon of chucklehead for 12.50 seemed a defo great bargain

Sadly the true cost is my head!!!

Twas a lovely day.
It was possible to listen to the reggae and watch the cops herd gangs of youth from one side of the crowd to the other, a sort of inner city version of One Man and his Dog really so keeping up the country passtimes with a twist theme

Such is the delicacy of physicalcondition I may have to give today a miss, which is a pity, Johnny Clarke!! Boo Hoo:(

Thanks to everyone who put up with my drunken babbeling and the somewhat ragged howling along to Michael Prophet

Well done Ruby -henceforth to be known as RubyFirstPrize!!!!!:D:D

It was spitting when you wrote that, but has all dried up now... looks almost pleasant.
I'm gonna wander down in a bit.

Can someone tell me how the layout's changed please so I can decide which entrance will be the shortest walk from Brixton Hill

Is the food/main stage in the same place? What about the arenas?

I've guessed already that the funfair's still over the Herne Hill side but not interested in that.

The layout is only different in very minor ways

Main stage is where its has been for the last 8 years or so, same for village green and the little stage - though it does seem a narrower space this year.

Hossies, veggies, sheepies etc still top o the hill

Have a luverlee day like

Probably start pissing down by the time we get there :D

Enjoyed meself yesterday, despite getting there quite late and not seeing that much.

Looking forward to seeing the Top Cats at 3 on the Main Stage.

It was lovely seeing Rubytoogood get her prize this morning (well afternoon really I suppose). She got by far the loudest cheer, leading the MC to remark along the lines of..."I'd always thought the handicraft section was for the quiet/staid" or something like that... :D It was actually all incredibly sweet - people getting prizes for their jam/veg etc. A flower tent full of home-made love! :D

Had a nice chat with a few other urbanites - lovely to see everyone. Thank you Memespring for the "freezing Chucklehead" idea (forward thinking!!). Had a nice slice of cake and a whole half a pint of Stowford Press. Had to come back early-ish as I've got some work to do at home - but another lovely day. I love the country show.
