From the website
"Soft drinks are allowed, but alcohol is strictly prohibited."
A liddage fee? Wtf?!
Noooo. Since when? Oh gosh.
chucklehead is cheaper than shops
I'm going to run a piece on Buzz tomorrow to forewarn punters.
I've spoken to them and they've had to put up their prices again because of Lambeth. It was touch and go whether they'd make it this year.
i think they will say that on the website, to encourage people to not bring their own booze, but it will be business as usual, i.e bring your own.
because they're being charged more for their pitches or because they've been asked to charge more?
Increased pitch prices and some other stuff I can't mention here. It's always a huge gamble for such a small company.
They told me: "It’s getting riskier every year - all we need is a weekend of thunderstorms, or maybe two brits in the wimbledon finals etc etc and goodness knows what will happen."
But the queues are going to be ridiculous. I'm just going to take my booze in a plastic bottle. Screw the screws.
'Teas at CP but noticibly less people drinking their own.
They can go fuck themselves.
Considering 160,000 people came last year, many with their own booze, i cant see their being any issue. if there is, beers will be passed over or through the fence.
shouldnt be anything to worry about
If there is no bylaw against drinking alcohol in Brockwell Park in general, I can't see how they have any legal right to refuse entry/ confiscate booze, given that it is not a fenced event.
Says the same for Camberwell Fair too! Is that a new thing, or did I just not notice last year?
I have to miss this year's, bit disappointed as I like Loose Ends, proper 80s Soul
First one I've missed for 4 years.
As for Splash/Wave...ripple whatever, it's a joke what they are coming up with, no music ...no thanks.
I will be going to Simmer Down in Handsworth Park (Brum) on the 23rd tho.
Freddie MacGregor top of the bill and a Tamla in Dub session.
Enjoy yourselves at Lambeth Show folks, I'm sure you will all find some way to sneak your drinks in
Just found that there is a free app. It seesm to include schedules as well as maps and artist details. You can set it to remind you 15 minutes before events (bowie @2pm on Saturday - main stage)
I think it is sensible to make it glass free - and a £1 fee for plastic in which to decant it doesn't seem too unreasonable, when the alternative is pouring it away
2pm. Blimey that's early. Thanks for info what's the app?
Interesting - I think you may be right
On apple app store I searched for "Lambeth Country Show"
I got there from a link on the Show's facebook page .
If you're on android, it may help you find it to know that the (ios app) developer = les editions golive.fm inc
Who do we approach about pointing this out?
Great app! Pleasing
Bit more about the rules: Lambeth Country Show: you can’t bring in your own booze and other rules for the festival
Here's the Android one - Lambeth Country Show – Android Apps on Google Play
Edit: Except it's only compatible with my fucking Chromebook. Fucking idiots.
Edit 2: but if I click OK to installing it there, it becomes available for my phone. Well sloppy programming.
Thanks - Found it.....2pm is a bit early...I'm travelling from outside London so may not make it back by then...
No idea, but if any jobsworth tries to take the booze away from me I'll certainly be trying that approach. And I very much doubt they're going to prevent people sitting just outside of the 'perimeter' of the event from drinking booze.
List of prohibited items on the website:
Says no glass, not no alcohol
Although a colleague has just suggested to me that that's always been the case, it's just never enforced
Separate names with a comma.
