Ladies, talk to me about bras

bras are an investment. you wear them everyday and if you have large breasts then the comfort factor has to win over.
i must go somewhere and get a fitting but ive read loads of articles that say that because every shop has different training and because of human error you will not get an accurate sizing anyway :(

You really need to go and try bras on to see if they fit you as well as different brands are completely different sizes.

The support should come from the waistband not from the straps. if the back rides up then the waistband is too big. You should always buy a bra that fits you on the most lose fitting, as the elasticity lessens over time to you will need to fasten it on a tighter setting later on.

:)

I would second the "go for a fitting" option. aqua converted me from years of cheap and nasty bras and guess what - my bras are now comfortable

you don't even have to spend a lot, the last ones i bought were 20 quid from house of fraser.

I really can't recommend enough getting fitted. Even if its just once, for one bra, then you can buy other ones of the same make online (Maidenform fit me stupidly perfectly, so now I never need refitting for them, I just buy from figleaves).

I totally agree, I had been wearing the wrong size for years and the difference in terms of comfort and look is amazing! I went to M&s and it only took about 3 mins, the women are well trained and pretty unembarrassable I would think

i've not worn one (well, apart from to things like job interviews - my nipples are a little cheeky, iyswim) for the last six years.

sod the droopiness which will prbably come in a decade or so.

i find them uncomfy, restricting and downright horrid.

my other reason is the breast cancer/bra link i heard suggested .. oo.. about six years back
i would google for sources but i can't be arsed

(and yes i know i'm a massive hypocrite - i'm off out for a fag in a sec :))

good luck finding comfy and appropriate ones to the ladies who want them, though :)

This is a shame :( All the women I've ever been measured by are pretty unfazable tbh, even when my excema was really bad one time they just weren't bothered, I guess they're quite used to skin and its various appearances

It's Tinea Versicolor - I've been putting cream on it all week and it's not so noticeable now, so I might go for a fitting at the weekend.

I know what you mean, I went a long time without a bra, but didn't you find the bouncing painful sometimes?

*goes off to google about bras and cancer*

I go braless at home but I couldn't risk it when I'm out - too uncomfortable, especially cycling over a bump!

And I have to wear them at work, too many pervy men.

Thing is, i really love pretty bras, make me feel good and pretty....iykwim...

but,

there's nothing better, after a long day at work, than flinging off your bra and having a good scratch and fondle...........makes 'em feel more human again...iykwim !

:D

i don't bounce :)
well, not painfully

*likes being small*

i read a statistic that something like 75% of women wear the wrong size bra because they guess or self measure and get it wrong.

i've just bought white blouses, should i wear black or white underneath it? its a bit seethrough :o

I was wearing a 40/42 DD for years until I found out I was a 34/36FF :o the woman at the shop said my old bras were more like vests for all the support they gave me :D

*tries to help madusa realise that big boobs ain't all that*

  • you don't have to spend £30+ on a bra (even if it's a style that's a bit pants, but cos it's in your size)
  • no back ache
  • no dents in your shoulders from bra straps
the only upside is, is the comedy value of having your bra on your other halfs head and his head being smaller than one of your boobs ;) :D

oh, and you can stash more stuff in a bigger bra (other than jubblies of course)
