Ladies, how much do you pay for your haircut?

£30 - maybe three times a year. I heart my hairdresser, and the way he cuts my hair - but it would get too short if I had it done much more often than that. I cut my own fringe in between haircuts.

I do my own colouring, so that's about a tenner, four or five times a year.

Normally about £30 every 2 months. I try and save my haircuts for special occasions so this time my hair has not been cut for nearly 3 months but I have an appointment for a cut n curl on Saturday(going to a wedding).....and I am having a french manicure at the same time. I dye my own hair roughly again every 2 months at £6 a box

About £35, although I don't go especially regularly - whenever I'm feeling a bit skint, haircut is the first 'luxury' item to go. I love my hairdresser though; after years of paying all kinds of different prices and experiencing the full range of hair emotions (mostly on the disappointment/acceptable axis, with the occasional foray into sheer delight or untrammelled horror), it's so brilliant to be able to put myself in her hands and know she'll make me look good. She's a nice girl too, a bit older than the rest of the directional-haired stylists, so less inclined to give me a stupid emo haircut just because it's in.

I love the salon as well. They're open till 9pm every night, so no rushing frantically after work or being forced to book on a hellish Saturday; they give you a free drink, booze or non-booze, and a bag of crisps when you arrive; you get a complimentary head massage before the wash, which is actually competent and pleasant rather than torturous; the music is often okay; plus I get to see straight away what fashion trend is most of the moment, because every single person working there will be wearing it :D

I get my hair cut about twice a year. I just tell them to do what they want. They always do pretty much the same thing - layer it (as it is very thick and I look like crystal tips otherwise) and cut it until it is just a bit too short to be tied back completely. So I find that irritating and wait till it grows long enough to all be tied back before starting the whole process again. For this joy, I pay about 40 quid.

I really don't give much of a shit about my hair - I colour it to get rid of the grey about every 2-3 months and never blow dry or style it. I'm a lazy cow tbh :o

Grew my fringe out because I couldn't be doing with paying to have that chopped every few weeks.
It's easy enough to cut your own fringe well providing you get a hairdresser to do it the first time.

I've only just started getting my hair cut again for the first time in ages, and pay £13. I think I'll stop again though, it's just getting shorter and shorter, and I still end up with split ends anyway so it all seems a bit pointless. I do sometimes wonder whether the fact that I've had basically the same hairstyle (long, with a fringe) for about 16 years now is really a good thing though...

Nothing. We cut each other's hair in my hippy household.

I've recently started dying it to cover up a few grey hairs: £2.50 (special offer boxes) every couple of months.

£100 every 6 months for a cut and highlights. Sometimes longer. Can't be arsed with high maintenance hair.

Fuck all.

Head over the bath, comb it straight - no fucking small talk  - cut in a straight line = layers....

I've got curly hair, so I can get away with it being a bit lopsided, but I've been dallying with the idea of splashing out and visiting a Mr Toppers £5 place for a while....

:(

I pay £40 for my haircut and another £35 for the colour. My hairdresser is absolutely ace and cuts my hair fantastically. The colour has been mixed to be really close to my natural colour but with a bit more wamth so it looks natural and only needs recolouring twice a year. You can't buy that in Boots. I don't mind paying at all - it's a highly skilled job!

She cuts it sort of freehand, figuring out how my hair falls as she cuts it so my fantastic short bob just hangs perfectly - I don't even need to blow dry it - which is a testament to her skill.

We don't have to talk crap to each other either which we both like. I'm very much of the Winston Churchill school of hairdressing:

Q: "how would you like your haircut sir?"

A: "in silence"

:D

depends, if its just a trim then I pay £10 for a wet cut (never blow dry it myself so never see the point of getting them to)

if I want colours, a full head colour with 2/3 highlights in will be around £50 but I haven't done that this year

I think I've had it cut twice this year as well :o she despairs with me :D

£25 and she comes to the house. It's taken me 42 years to find a hairdresser I trust. I have it done every 6 months or so.

i paid £21 the other day. first time i've had it cut by a hairdresser for 3(?) years.

i asked for a short-ish cut that won't look awful if i don't use a hairdryer, i took pictures with me and even asked his opinion.

i washed it this morning, didn't blow dry it and it looks awful - the layers are sticking out all over the place. i put some wax in it and it just made it worse. it's now in pigtails

dunno why i bothered.

I'd forgotten about colouring. Flashy does that for me. I use Lush henna blocks so I mix it up with some paprika and other odds and sods, sit in my birthday suit in an empty bath and he covers my melon in the stuff. So probably about £12 for that but I've not done it for yonks.
