Ladies - How far is reasonable to walk on a night out?

You do, don't you? I'm single you know ;)

Wasn't she the only one of them that could sing?

Noted. You are also aware of my recent-ish relationship hell though

In the show, or the Spice Girls?:D They all sounded like they'd done it before in the show:D

It'd be a stupid thing to lie about?

It certainly would, but some people are terrible at judging distances and if she doesn't know you well then maybe she's been burnt before with "It's just around the corner and down a bit" stuff?

I bet everyone has a friend who, when asked how close the pub is the the tube, will say "10 mins!" whether it's next door but one, or around the corner and down a bit.

so? If it´s a bit longer, it´s a bit longer, and you complain then.

I walk everywhere so that would be a hop skip and a jump for me, but we are all different Maybe she just isn't used to it.

How far is 400/500 metres in proper measurements?

Painful feet are painful, but the ''none of my friends would ever do so'' sounds a bit spoilt.

Do you want a woman who wears flimsy clothes in november and pretty but painful shoes, or do you want one that will walk 500 metres or do you want both? That is what you have to ask yourself.

That might mean having two women, one of whom was very annoying and needed got rid.

How far is reasonable to walk on a night out is like asking how long is a piece of string.

It's impossible to answer because there are too many variables: height of heels and general practicality or impracticality of footwear for walking in, whether the attire is suitable for wandering around outside, what the weather's like...

400m is one lap of an athletics track. If she can't walk that distance in a pair of cowboy boots, what's she going to be like in a pair of heels? Sorry for the lack of sisterly solidarity and all that, but she sounds whiney and spoilt.

Maybe she didn't believe you when you said it wasn't far?

Actually that is a good point. Mr. QofG's sense of distance/time and mine has caused friction over the years as in "It's only a 10 minute walk"....30 minutes later! Or "I'm five minutes away"...25 minutes later

The point is, if you are not expecting to be walking you can get away with impractical footwear. If she knew she would be walking myabe she would have worn something comfier.

:D 400 yards? Get a taxi? Jesus, feckin Londoners. If I called a taxi to take me 400 yards, they'd just laugh.

You'd all die in a post apocalypse, you know. :D

the more worrying aspect for me is the "none of my friends would". So it wasn´t just the footware thing it was that, in general, 10 minutes walking is unreasonable.

It's the ''none of my friends would do it'' that really marks her card. Makes it a point of principle rather than a comfort issue.

Binnybinnybinbint.

metres, danny, metres.

I know someone who got a cab to take them up a very short but very steep road to Glasgow School of Art if you're familiar.
