Labours only hope now...

No they don't. They think that if they try harder at selling a pile of shit voters won't see it as a pile of shit.

They also seem to have this petulant view that KL should be now forced down people's throats as punishemnt for having the sheer affront to vote against him. Nice.

No - I've a better idea. Put him out to retirement. The most charitable view I can take of him is that he's given all he can reasonably be asked to give to the political scene now. Time to make a quiet, dignified exit and write his memoirs or something.

Can't see it tbh, he's only 62 and still wants to be active from what I see...

Poster, you've taken a total pisstake of an idea and are claimed that it's what people are arguing should happen - despite the whole humour of the idea being in the utter impossibility of it ever happening. When this is pointed out to you you then argue that that this is what they really want to do. Those bastards. Do yourself a favour and take a step back and stop seeing stuff through the prism of a few people on these boards.

Its not just the Daily Mail that is pointing out NL's failiures. The average bod can see it as he or she walks around their own towns and cities.

But he isnt just pointing out New Labour failings - left leaning posters do that on here all the time - he's spouting hysterical right wing tabloid bollocks about 'hive-minds' and 'the left' wanting Livingstone as Labour leader and then, as usual, attempting to portray himself as some kind of martyr when asked to produce evidence - any evidence at all - that theres any tuth in his claims.

I've got no problems with people moving to the right, but I'll always challenge those who attempt to portray themselves as somehow remaining left wing by voting for the Tories.

Yup. You see it on here. The Ken worshippers here are showing their true anti democratic colours. London electors made a democratic decision and all they do is scream that we should be forced to have that dodgy bastard KL foisted on us as an MP or that those who voted for a change are morons.

Fuck them. They couldn't get enough support for their man so he lost. Get fucking over it.

Except

1 I haven't moved to the right.

2 I didn't vote tory. I abstained. Had their been a IWCA candidate, I would have voted for them (as I did last time). However, I grew sick of KL for a multitude of (leftwing) reasons.

Yes, it's actually funny as fuck to watch them all hopping up and down in rage:D. There's an excellent thread in The Bin started by Firky which sums it up in the OP.

I've asked you before but would you mind awfully pointing out who the 'Ken worshippers' on here are? I cant think of a single poster who doesnt have reservations about Ken, and many of the posters you appear to accuse of being 'Ken worshippers' didnt even vote for him - they disagreed with your ludicrous arguements that voting for a racist tory was the only option progressive voters had.

More projections in that post than in your local cinema.

That was a good line the first couple of dozen times you used it.

Anyway, Im still waiting for you to provide some evidence - any evidence at all - to back up your claim that 'the left' would like Ken to be Labour leader.

'Cos i dont want to call you a bullshitter but you really dont help yourself...

Labour was fucked in the recent election becuase of a) their policies b) electoral tiredness c) economic circumstances d) not listening to what voters want e) no core labour party to do the electoral work.

feck off tory boy

Select Livingstone for Dunwoodys old seat (they probably already have a candidate, but they can fuck off out of the way) & let him become leader with Brown going back to being chancellor. Johnson will have made himself look like a useless fool within a year, and most Londoners (KBJ excepted, of course) will swing back to Labour out of guilt.

Livingstone's first act as PM - closing down Eton & making anyone who ever went there pay £5million to the Exchequer to redress some of the privileges they received.

It would be considerably better if they got rid of Brown, gave the job to McDonnell and let him fix things - renationalize the railways, end airport expansion and subsidy, bring about a fairer tax regime, stop interference and the snide privatization of the NHS, finally kill the utter bollocks ID Card scheme and sundry other nonsensical bollocks that Brown and his smug predecessor are responsible for.

I think thats something we can all agree on! :D

*APPLAUSE!*

there's absolutely sweet fuck all chance of that (either agricola or fruitloops suggestions), sadly. The run to the right continues unabated

@Agricola

Agreed, though little sign of that according to Grimmer Up North(she is a LP mayor) they are going to go to the right

There is a lot of sense in that blog, though I disagree with some of her comments on immigration.

I appreciate this is something that people will already know the answer to, but where are the Unions in this? The Labour Party is so far in debt that it is rated as a spectacularly bad credit risk and is in all likelyhood existing solely due to the support from the Unions. Why cant they use this to force a change in direction?

Becuase they don't actually want to? I think much of the unions-movements' beaurocacy is similarly-minded to Nu Labour.

Purnell again, this is the guy who is pushing through welfare 'reform' which will see hundreds of thousands lose benefits, including many disabled parents/single parents,

how will that reduce child poverty?

'
Purnell will say that Labour can win the next election with what is being dubbed "the 1991 option", after John Major's fightback against the odds to win the 1992 election, because the government is still dominating the battle for ideas, particularly in the battle to reduce child poverty.
