La Liga 2009/10

35mil's a lot of money for a 28 year old. Yeah, inflated prices and so on, but I always think that if a player gets a bad knock...

Presumably, this will mean the end of Henry and maybe Ibrahimovich?

I disagree, its not that much more than Real paid for Alonso, only £4 million more than what Lord Ferg paid for Berbatov, much less than what they paid for Ibrahimovic and you could convincingly make an argument that Villa is the best non-Rosario born striker in the world.

If him, Messi, Pedro, Xavi, Iniesta and the rest click - and lets face it theres no reason they wont - then the results will be terrifying, one imagines. Who would stop them?

Have you seen Maxwell and Chyrgnathingy play for us  God forbid Valdes gets injured and Pinto plays in goal

Who know maybe Ibra and Villa would click and work well - one things for sure Henry isn't going to be near the starting side most weeks.

Let's hope for their sake he doesn't break a leg.

Yes, but you could say that about anyone. What would happen to Real if CR9 slipped on some spilt hair gel? It has to be a risk.

Of course. Ronaldo was only 23 when Real signed him, though - potentially much longer to recover.

Makes Torres look a real bargain, too.

Congrats to Sevilla on winning the Kings Cup. The atmosphere was amazing...the sombreros, the chants the sing along to the anthem that has no words!

Perea's tackle on Capel created a nice little dust up that ended with the two coaches being separated by technical staff :D

My favourite is this quality stat:

Catalan hospitals announced a 45% increase in the birth rate – exactly nine months after Andrés Iniesta's last-minute winner at Stamford Bridge

:D

Inter want 13 million compensation! Pellegrini was never going to stay because he failed to deliver after massive investment. However Jose's sides aren't known for great football so I wonder what fans and press who criticised their style of play this season will make of it!

basically the press wanted him out since Alcorcon and were prepared to say whatever to back that up.

It's Hiddink/Del Bosque Part 3! Okay I don'th think he's as good as either of those but he racked up a record number of points for the club....not really his fault Barca ended up being better.

The CL failure was pretty poor but really that was the players on the night not him. I sense Pellegrini was never MAdrid enough...not the right type of person.

Jose and the chairman could be interesting esp if they fail in the CL league again...two very strong characters butting heads. Cos everyone knows its the chairman's club not the managers. Always been that way with Perez.
