Kraftwerk Tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - help

That was incredible. I managed to get a ticket easy and at face value.

It was at the velodrome and during Tour De France the Olympic cycling team came out and were doing laps, it was amazing.

Then, the second half of the show was a 3D show with Kraftwerk in their neon Tron suits.

All in all it was probably the best show I have ever been to and has ticked off one of my long time ambitions.

WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

:D

complete twaddle

How so? Listening to the live recording recently issued clearly shows that they never depart far from what is already available. And that was true when I saw them at the Brixton Academy - the only surprise was a performance of 'Numbers' which was not included on 'The Mix' (to which their tour was linked) - which later surfaced on the most recent live recording.

You are not going to be presented with a radical re-working of their music.

:)

it's the audio-visual experience innit? way better than sitting at home. i was at one of the brixton shows and enjoyed it way more than i would have done on my own with my crappy stereo.
i'd rather see someone like kraftwerk live, reproducing their music brilliantly, than some sludgy 'proper' live act, sounding not quite as good as their recorded material.

We'd tried to get tickets to see them at the Volkswagen factory in Germany (I'd probably have died of excitement before that one :D) but couldn't, so snapped up tickets for this one ages ago.

It was quite simply one of the best gigs I've ever been to, and there've been a few ;) The cyclists were a brilliant surprise and the 3D stuff was mind boggling. Absolutely marvellous.

Steve Reich's thing was excellent, too, but it was so hot, most people were still lurking outside. I might have to investigate his work further...any recommendations?

of Tour de France, so you can see the cyclists!

and a longer one - crowd get a bit excited at 3:45.

We agree on the fact of their musical importance and on the value of seeing them live.

:)

i refer you to the post above yours and challenge you to reproduce that experience in your own living room :)

The audio is easily reproduced. The fact that they are in the velodrome is impressive, but the images on the screen do not look different to those used during 'The Mix' tour. There are cyclists present, but that strikes me as being too gimmicky.

:)

I love a gimmick, me. And a robot. And magical 3D pills and musical notes floating above my head :D I'm still grinning every time I think about that show and it was 4 days ago.
