That rings a bell (they never caught the whole gang because the attacks continued after they jailed those 8) but it wasn't a spray, they were supposedly pumping rooms full of gas as people slept inside.

No drug that does that safely exist. Its the reason anesthesiologist is a medical speciality. It takes time, information and skill to knock someone out safely.

For example Russia special forces pumping knock out gas into the theatre siege in 2002 killed 130 hostages.

I think the russian special forces are as safety conscious as the next person using knock out spray, and better resourced.

As I point out anaesthesiology is a science, and a trained doctor is required to get the dosage correct.
