Be part of history(onics) at the inaugaral Klub dAdA on April Fools Day at the Mad George Tavern, 373 Commercial road, e1 in celebration of 90 years of dAdA spirit.
We've put together a soiree of DadA theatre, boxing, shouting, film and tarts for your delectation to be held at the Mad George, a pub which has been mentioned in these parts on the odd occasion before because it is a rather special place.
All begins with a perfomance of The Greatest Ever dAdA Show at around 8.30 based on new translations of twenties Paris dAdA texts. This was last aired at the Tate modern last year and resulted in a reknowned art-professor attacking the members of the cast causing speaker stands to tumble and the Tate's hallowwed walls to be defaced.
After this there will be a somewhat disorganised melange of cabaret featuring Cravan vs Cravan DaDa boxing (taking on all-comers), Noblesse Oblige making alot of nasty noise and shapes, M Johnny Southside and his merry band of inebriants doing what they normally do only noisier, the explosive Spinmaster plantpot, dirty squealing pigs, a short lecture on insanity and shitloads more oddities. To be honest I'm really not all that sure what's going to happen, but it will be different.
Anyway all this fun will cost a mere £5 before 9.30 and £8 after, but do try and make it for the theatre show because it's been endorsed by Louis Aragon himself from the other side and he's the kind of person who knows about these things. And if you do come, do try and make something of an effort with your attire, it is a rather special gathering after all.
And there's two pairs of free places on the guestlist for the first two urbanites brave enough to PM me.
