Kitty Daisy & Lewis

After he played them every night, I remember them on Mark Radcliffe about 12 months ago doing Honolulu Rock-a Roll-a.

Sean Rowley had 'em on his show last year too. I still don't think that their music's anything special.

reply to sunspots...i havent heard them at all other than catching them live by chance a year or so back when i was expecting some left field indie bands(i think david devant and spirit wife headlined that night)

IMHO kitty and co had impact and were fresh and exciting.:D and were enjoying themselves which is a winner in my book..its its brillant that they are such young kids too and they are following their own musical path:cool: i dont really follow the 50s scene generally but they seem a bit different to many other 50's influenced bands ..they werent really just rockabilly for a start, their musical style and influences havent been done to death... i think a lot of their appeal is VISUAL maybe it is a bit flat/soulless on radio?
i would definately recommend people to see them live if its a cheap price!
wonder if they listen to the collins kids at home? curious as to who they cite as their main influence..off to google them

Considering just how retro a lot of my music taste is, I don't quite know why K,D&L's music doesn't grab me.

It doesn't mean I think what K,D&L do is rubbish, just that my personal preferences differ. Once I got past the obvious novelty aspect, I didn't really think they added anything new to a tried and tested formula; and if there's nothing added, then I'd rather just get my kicks from the original source.

And more importantly, I've got a stomach ache this morning. :( :o

:D sounds fair enough really..if you know their sources well i can completely see how they will seem not that special..it floored me cos i hadnt thought about that style of music for a very long time and seemed such an antidote

any recomendations as to who their main influences are? many thanks for any names
