Dishwashers use less water than washing up by hand. Water that you've got to heat up as well. So you might find the dishwasher is more energy efficient than washing up by hand.


We've just today had a dishwasher installed in our new kitchen, and it is fabulous and wonderful

Surely that depends how much water you use washing up by hand?

It's not just water anyway, it's electricity as well.
