Kinnear goes ballistic

Joe Kinnear's a cock, the only reason the Dons did well when he was manager was because Terry Burton was coaching, Kinnear basically left Burton to run the team and just came in the dressing room before, at half time and after the match to call them all cunts. His "Shakespearian" use of the English language obviously as not improved in the past ten years.

"He's fat, he's round, he'll send the geordies down.. Joe Kinnear, Joe Kinnear.."

Burton was fucking good, but success seemed to follow Kinnear around.

Calling people cunts may well be the tonic that the Geordies need.
:D

In the lower leagues with Luton with "Mad" Mick Harford as asst manager/coach and very limited success with Forrest. But apart from the Dons with Burton he has not got a great managerial CV and the "barcodes" are taking a hell of a risk with him.

But he is amusing and is good comedy value; example after his heart attack he was asked about his diet by the cardiac consultant, Joe replied that he like a fry up and a few pints of Guinness. The Cardiac consultant asked him how many times a month he has a fry up, Joe replies "times a month.. I have a fry up every day.."

But I can never forgive him for backing the move to Dublin in 1996 and stating that the views of Dons supporters should not count. He lost the support of the Dons then and never regained it.

Yep, that was shit. Maybe he knew that Milton Keynes was the other option.

If Kinnear offers comedy value and a metaphorical rocket up the arse that's not a bad deal for the toon. If can deflect attention from the players and unite them against the press then they might start to show some balls and start playing again. After all, they're not a markedly worse squad than last year's.

But let's all be honest here; looking at the sports section and seeing a one, two of Spurs and Newcastle at the bottom of the premiership gives me a warm glow of happiness and if Mr Kinnear's tenure allows this state of affairs to continue, I, for one will be a very, very happy chappy..:D

Spurs I agree with you, but I'd prefer the Geordies higher tbh. They're likeably daft, like the superannuated labrador that you really should have put down years ago for his own safety. I can't put my finger on why I hate Tottenham so much historically, but it's something to do with North London, bad perms in the 80s and the big club delusions of their gullible fans.

Swap Newcastle for the Mancs and I'd be happy indeed.

And he still gets payed £50,000 each fucking game.

Should he not get paid because of the touchline ban then? Is a difference of a few yards in his position on match day so important that the rest of his job is not worthy of reward?

£50,000 a game is abit too much if you ask me. Did you see me say he shouldn't get payed? No,you didn't.

I saw you implying that he somehow shouldn't get paid £50,000 a game because he has a touchline ban.

I just meant its abit much especially how considering he has a touchline ban...that ashley didn't even know about. I never said he shouldn't get payed at all though.

I thnik everyone saw him imply that. Or clearly he would have raged against the 50k a week, not the touchline ban.

FWIW 50k a week doesn't sound a huge amount for a short term contract for the manager of a supposedly big club. Not as though there's no pressure on the manager there is there?

ferdinand got paid for all those 8 months he couldn't play

ashley didn't have too many candidates to choose from tbf, how many turned him down before he got to joe?

I know, but £50,000 a game? he's gonna earn £1million in 2 games. And he's serving a touchline ban ffs.

Funny how you're all trying to defend this, thought you was all against all this money being in football?

Some Friday afternoon sums going on there.

How many 100,000s has Owen earned for sitting on his arse and watching his horseracing portfolio whilst injured over the years of his NUFC contract?

i was just adding to the confusion :D , ferdinand was on £100,000 a week for those 8 months - nice money when you can't even do the job because of your own fuck up

I'm still wondering how you take 50,000, times it by 2 and come up with a million?

Hell, if it had been a misplaced nought I can understand it, but he wrote 'million'
:D

It's OK, I'm just trying to get back on his ignore list ;)

Kinnear. As far as I'm concerned, he's just gone from zero to hero. Fantastic interview. Best I've ever heard from a footie manager.

Never mind the consequences, just abuse all the journalists and declare you will never speak to them again!

How many football managers around the country must dream of giving an interview like that?

He'll get crucified in the papers, but he's got balls of steel.

This is the consequence of a short term contract. Kinnear has nothing to loose. He's out of the box. The guy could do anything in the next few weeks. Watch out.

It's amazing -

"How long are you here for? We don't know? No-one's giving us a straight answer"

[tirade of sarcasm and swear words]
