Demonstrate for the NHS
There is to be a march and rally on Saturday 9th September 2006 in Birmingham for the NHS - "Keep Our NHS Public". The march is called by West Midlands Pensioners Convention and is supported by trade unions, the RCN, and various MPs. It will assemble at 12.30 in Victoria Square by Birmingham Town Hall and be led by a Jazz Band to a rally at Carrs Lane Community Church. Speakers are to include Rodney Bickerstaff (Pensioners leader and former Unison General Secretary), Dr Elizabeth Barrett from Derby, MPs, Ann Green from the Campaign Against Euro Federalism and speakers from the RCN and Unison.

These demos are now occurring all over the country and some are attracting considerable numbers - another is planned for 23rd September in Nottingham (for those not outside the labour conference with STWC)
