kebabs: "shocking" levels of salt, fat and calories

Yeah the fat and salt content are not a shock (although from its constituent parts - lean lamb, pitta, fresh salad and yoghurt or chilli sauce it shouldn't be) but the different species stuff is a bit :hmm:

tbf, I usually go for the chicken shish

when I say 'usually' - it has been several years :)

Always Lamb shish for me, not in pitta but in rolled flat bread- preferably from a proper kebab shop on Green Lanes - delicious and low fat
- dont really understand why one would want a doner when theres a shish option. Doesn't have to be unhealthy.

I much prefer shish to doner kebabs. Sometimes, though, when you're three sheets to the wind and in need of munchies there's nothing quite like a greasy doner. :D I always regret it the next day, though...

Nice Turkish restaurant - Nice healthy shish.

Pissed on a Friday night - Large Doner with chilli sauce and all the trimmings.

I'm not really familiar with kebabs. I normally have chips, cheese and gravy.

I agree with Zenie about the elephant leg kebabs. I shared one with someone once. Wowsers. Rankworld.

The pork thing doesnt shock me, having been teased about missing cats by nasty people from St Helens for a good while now.

Ive seen frozen cylinders of mystery meat being delivered to kebab joints, it was very League of Gentlemen. It looked so wrong that I cant remember not eating one in the UK for some time.

Oh for a decent shwarma or gyros!

The time for New Zealand-style ratings for takeaway food emporiums is long over due. I demand tests for cleanliness and mixed-species kebabs. :hmm:

My friend once ordered a kebab, but then couldn't eat it, so he put it in the fucking freezer to defrost and eat the next day.

Detroit City is a big fan of this. He freezes Burger King an all sorts.

I think that is an impressive commitment to fast food.

Brilliant.

TBF I think my friend thought better of it the next day, but the fact that it even entered his filthy mind is worrying.
