Katyusha rockets strike Israel.

This all stems directly from the Israeli actions in Palestine lately. Destroying water, electricity and government structures at will - collective punishment.

If Iran had fired at Israel the way Israel has attacked the Palestinians it would be a different story. America has yet again veto'd a resolution condemning the Israeli military actions but urging 'restraint'.

Laws need to be adhered to.

BBF;
Moono says the israelis fired first but almost brushes over the terrorist attack that started it.

Let's have some basic truth, Fred. Hizb Allah attacked Zionist soldiers. Then the Zionists started killing Lebanese civilians.

Let's establish a timeline that will enable discussion without having to resort to argument every tick of the clock. This one is from today's 'Guardian' and I suggest that anybody that DISAGREES with the Guardian's detail says so now or s'stfu.

25 January: Hamas defeats moderate Fatah in Palestinian elections.

10 April: EU severs political contact and suspends direct aid to Palestinian government.

9 June: Hamas calls off 16- month military truce after seven members of a Palestinian family are killed on a Gaza beach by Israel shell. Four days later a family of nine die in Israeli missile strike in Gaza.

25 June: Palestinian militants launch raid into Israel, killing two Israeli soldiers and kidnapping Cpl Gilad Shalit.

29 June: Israel troops, having pushed into Gaza, detain Hamas lawmakers and cabinet members. Air strikes.

12 July: Hizbolla captures two Israeli soldiers and kills eight. Israel calls it 'act of war' and widens Gaza offensive, killing 24 civilians. Air strikes destroy 10 bridges in Lebanon, and hit power stations and a water facility.

13 July: Israel bombs Palestinian Foreign Ministry and Bierut airport. Navy blockades Lebanese ports. The US vetoes resolution condemning Israeli attack on Gaza.

14 July: Israel bombs Beirut-Damascus road and Shia suburbs of Bierut: 67 Lebanese civilians dead. Hizbollah launches 130 missiles at Israel, killing at least two civilians. Israeli ship is hit by an explosives- filled drone, four dead.

15 July: In the village of Marwaheen - 500 yards from the Israeli border, an air strike kills up to 13.

Added 16 July; US vetoes resolution calling for ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon.

Personally, I object to the term 'kidnapping' in this instance, and I'd prefer 'capture' as only military personnel were taken by the Palestinians and Hizb Allah. On the other hand, the Zionists have 'kidnapped' the Palestinian parliament, all civilians.

TomUS;
This ought to make some folks around here verry happy.

Rockets fired by Hezbollah militants in Lebanon have killed at least eight people and wounded dozens of others in the coastal Israeli city of Haifa.

It is the worst attack on Israel since the clashes with Lebanon began.

Israeli jets have again hit targets in the south of Beirut as they continue a fifth day of air strikes, which have killed at least 100 Lebanese people.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/5184428.stm

I regret the loss of Israeli civilians. For the greater number of Palestinian and Lebanese civilians killed, my regret is proportionally greater.

Israel steeply escalated its military campaign against Hizbollah in Lebanon yesterday with a series of air strikes that left more than 35 civilians dead, including a single strike on a convoy of families fleeing the fighting in a village near Tyre in the south of the country that killed more than 20 people, most of them children.

TomUS, America refused, two weeks ago, to endorse a UN peacekeeping resolution. If anybody is to 'blame' for these deaths it is the weasel Bolton and his masters, safe in their American houses.
Yesterday, America vetoed a resolution calling for a ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon.

Isreal are terrorists just as much as anyone.

Isreal constantly breaks the Geneva convention and ignors international law.

Yep I know.
How does international law see firing rockets at grannies and 5 year old kids ?

Not taking Israel's side so much as pointing out moono's daft threads are racist and one sided as usual.

Far better, imo, to have allowed the Palestinian people their democratic choice.

This war, and it seems that a war it's going to be, is the direct result of the American/Zionist attempt to defile the Palestinian democratic process. After all, the Palestinians voted for Hamas because Hamas had held a ceasefire since 2004. They didn't vote for terrorism, they voted for a government and that choice was peed on.

Do you think that without the bolding, we'll miss the important parts?

what's your point caller?

You do realise Hamas and Hezbollah are different organisations?

And isn't it strange that Hezbollah are terrorists who abduct young israeli soldiers, whilst the IDF can enter the West Bank and scoop up hundreds of Palestinians, hold them without charge for months, even years and no be considered kidnappers? How about the hundreds of under 18 palestinians being held captive by the Israeli state?

There are those here that require slapping with a wet cod in order to realise that something is fishy, yes.
