Kanye West - Is this true?

Did a track with Chris Martin, so must be a complete and utter fuckspud.

That's disgusting.

I feel all wrong having posted that bit about Dilated Peoples now. They probably feel even more wrong though, so I suppose I can take comfort in that.

His music is damn good, specially his album 'Graduation'.

I have to say though, I don't like him as a person (I loathe his song 'Stronger') as I think his one of the most arrogant artists I'm aware of, but as an artist I think his one of the best hip hop artists around, maybe that backs up his ego a little.

On topic of this thread though, if that is true, that puts him right to the top of the 'P' list for me :D Which once again shows what type of a person he is to have a name which mixes two very influential people.

he has had a couple of stand out tunes and the first album is rather good

then he lost it and now he's long gone....

Nah. Terry Wogan Peacocks.

A small point in his favour.

Yes I think that performance was quite powerful, its almost all I know about the bloke too. I think I will choose not to think about his life as an ego without a cause, and all the stupid things he says, and just remember him for that. I felt a bit sorry for him when his Mum died too.

Plus I have a feeling he made some attempt to be critical about hip-hop attitudes towards homosexuality.

So maybe he is a silly person but at least he has sometimes tried to use his status as some sort of role-model to say things that others in his position never would.

is the track he did with Dilated Peoples btw, it's not bad. Definitely not their best though. And he goes into standard bitches etc lyrics... :hmm:

He's a shit cunt who manifests like a cancer on the soul of hiphop :)

Just had to resurrect this thread for two reasons:

1. Just saw the southpark episode where they relentlessly ripped the piss out of him.

2. The above comment made me nearly choke on my drink :D

Kanye West has had absolutely no impact on my life at all. Having just watched the southpark episode I had to do a little investigating to find out just how egotistical he really is. My, my what a big headed tosser ay? with such gems as “I realize that my place and position in history is that I will go down as the voice of this generation, of this decade, I will be the loudest voice,” i'm not surprised he got a serious dressing down in southpark.

To be fair to the man, southpark appears to have made him see the light

Thought i'd give his music a listen too, meh, not too bad. Voice of a generation? if true than how pitiful my generation is.

I love Kanye West since he got annoyed that J-Lo won 'best video' at some awards ceremony and he got up and said

“Fuck dis! (My video) cost a million dollars, Pamela Anderson was in it, I was jumping across canyons and shit.”

"If I dont win, the awards show loses credibility"

I love Kanye - he gave the best live performance i have ever seen anyone give (and i have seen plenty) and he knows what he is. He took the South Park pardoy of him very, very well too and said it was funny, which is all you can do really but plenty do not.

He's possibly the most egotistical and narcissistic hip hop artist currently alive, and that's saying something.

Didn't he get up on stage at the MTV awards in the US and berate them, saying they lacked credibility, for not voting his promo where he goes all Evel Knievel in a rocket plane as best video? I'm sure it was him.

He is not Hip-Hop.
