Where did you get that dodgily anecdotal, heard it from a bloke in the pub rumour from?In a pub?
It's 'Political correctness', that's what it is, isn't it??![]()
And not only that, it's 'gone mad'![]()
'They' are 'banning' 'our' Christmas! No doubt so as not to offend those pernickity Muslims, eh??
Could you be any less original?? Or any more Daily-Mail-headline-cliche filled?
The 'Politically Correct Brigade banning our Christmas' thing has all been done before, and it was just as free of any factual basis then as it still is now ...
Sorry, I made a mistake. I have since learned it was Lambeth and not Westminster as in fact shown on this forumand as you pointed out. I will have to have words with that guy in the pub eh!
As for your other comments, you misunderstand me. Or perhaps seeking to portray me purposefully in a bad light? I am not at all a chauvenist (in it's original sense in this instance clearly) or jingoistic Daily Mail reader (I would rather chew my own testicle off than read it to be honest), rather the point I was making was that I find it incredulous that anyone actually entertains the idea that calling something Christmas Lights is going to cause offence! Clearly somebody at Lambeth Council thought so as they suggested it.
So please don't try and twist my words (very unoriginally to coin a phrase of your own) to make out that I am some screaming anti-Islamic BNP activist. It really is quite boring.
Thanks
