Justice done - Steven Gerrard found not guilty

No, from the CCTV I saw, Gerrard approached the bloke, the bloke stood up and put his face in Gerrard's face....

That's when it all kicked off.

Judge Henry Globe told him: "The verdict is a credible verdict on the full facts of this case, and you walk away from this court with your reputation intact.

"You did not start the violence, it was started by the violent elbowing of Marcus McGee in the face by one of your friends John Doran," he added.

From the BBC report.

FFS, Gerrards mate elbowed him first, he 'went down' then when he got up Gerrad hit him. That's been established in court, Gerrard hit a man who'd already been assaulted.

Gerrard didn't see that though. He was well pissed so it's believable.

Before that the bloke is in Gerrard's face.

Self defence: me and me mates confronted this bloke. When me mate knocked him down, he got up and came in my direction, so I hit him several times. Clearly, in getting me mates to come and help me confront the bloke - and then hitting him several times myself - I am innocent.

Edit: Oh yes, and I was so scared for my wellbeing in all of this, that when my mates followed up by kicking the bloke, I had to be dragged away. My fear of being attacked by the man on the floor was overpowering. I believe the UN are interested in my ideas for conflict resolution.

I think he threw 3 punches?

At the time there was a rumour that the dj was a Man Utd fan.

Man Utd fans have a history of this sort of stuff. Remember Moriniho last season - some wanker from Milton Keynes bleating on that Morinho had punched him. The prick went straight to the police, but police rightly said nothing doing.

Not sure if the same happened in the Stevie Gerrard case, but wouldn't be surprised.

Really, who the fuck goes in someones face shouting the odds? What a complete cock.

Justice has been done and that's a good thing imho.

:D

you've baited the rod, now just wait to see what bites.

Don't bother .... this is Relahni and his red-tinted spectacles you're talking to here.

As I've already observed, I suspect he'd be very quiet at the moment if the jury had potted the man of the people.

I was never sure how allowing this trial to be held at Liverpol Crown Court would serve justice. I don't care one way or the other about Gerrard but the bloke who was attacked deserved better from the CPS, imo.

the verdict is: if you are rich, famous and well connected, you can fuck people over with utter impunity

lets hope the victim takes the arrogant cunt to civil court for some kind of justice

I know of Palace fans who got 3 years inside for throwing a few traffic cones around after an England game.

And this no good scouse cunt gets let off after admitting hitting somebody because he could not get his own way. Farcial.

I think there would have been a tiny bit of a difference between a scuffle in a pub and mass organised and intentional violence or as you put it ''throwing around a few traffic cones''

I think the jury took only a few minutes to arrive at this verdict.

Glad to see justice done.

Justice, ya having laff. there was only one person in that video who was being an aggressive twat and it wasnt the DJ. Should have tried the fucker in Manchester to even things up a bit!

bad day for British Justice imho.

Can only speculate as to how the other lot ended up pleading guilty and avoiding the trial, but that's what saved Gerrard (as well as being a rich celeb as you say). If they'd all been tried together it would have been seen for what it was - a group attack on a bloke who refused to fawn over Gerrard.

Gerard was the one putting his face into the other guy surely? And how come he didnt see the elbow going in, he wa stood less tahn 6inches away.

Best part tho was when he askd for the control for the music and the guy told him no, he is supoosed to have said" Who is saying no to Steven Gerard?" What an absolute cock of the first order. I hope ya misus gives you a dose.

Who have Liverpool got first game? I can't wait for the chants of "You're supposed to be in jail":D

Be interesting to hear the judges summary to the jury. You'd have to follow a bizarre reading of the whole episode, right through to the 'not seeing the elbow that me mate put in when we all went up to confront him' thingy. How that led to a quick aquittal is very odd, even if they jury were all reds.

How long, assuming there isnt already, will it be before we see a "Hitler's reaction to Stevie G verdict". I haven't looked yet but will do so immediately after posting this.
