No one is suggesting that we should ban all vehicles powered by internal combustion engines. But seeing as climate change is a reality and that CO2 emmisions from cars bear much of the blame for it, we must be sensible about its use.
And anyone who buys and uses a 12mpg, very large and overall more dangerous vehicle as an everyday city car is being a reckless selfish wanker IMO.

People can drive what they like and they will- but I dont feel safe when I look out my windscreen and cant see round one of these tanks.
They also dont bother looking down and have nearly hit me a few times.
Added to the fact that people dont need to go off road in them and they are on the whole just ostentatious.
and sorry but who are you ...Onket said:What the fuck are you talking about? The things I mention inconvenience everyone who encounters the selfish person doing them.

Falsedoesn't matter how much you use or how you use it.
GarfieldLeChat said:and sorry but who are you ...
you seem to place this concer for others very highly and yet we have no established groudn to say that you can in your role as a concerned eco warrior or what ever to speak for the very many people on the planet in any capacity...
some people aren't into the same music that you like equally some people will be concerned with the enviroment issues will be a green light for some and a red light for others the simple mistake you are making is to assume that your concerns rightly or wrongly are other peoples concern... that is the product of an untimatley selfish mind....
GarfieldLeChat said:changed the word much to some as in fact industry creates the largest area of pollution on the planet but we still haven't bothered to tackle that one let's just attack the ltitle people get them to fight each other so long as we are still making money on it eh?
any one want to put money on the poor people to win...

Of course it matters how much you use. That's why it's wrong to leave the light on or leave the heating on overnight or drive to the local shops. That's why it's wrong to drive an inefficient vehicle or use an inefficient fridge etc if there are more efficient ones available... especially when it comes to SUVs which are often more expensive than the more efficient car and more dangerous to others too.
oooomegrapes said:just out of interest, do any of the people so opposed and aggreived by T&P's original post own a 'chelsea tractor'???
would be interested to know only because certain parties seem a little too sensitive about this topic, and hugely defensive.....
Well ok then, but we'll still all fuck it up more if we just go ahead and do as we please, won't we? So it's better to use a more efficient car, even if you still get called a selfish wanker anyway.djbombscare said:perhaps the way I wrote it may have mislead you as to what I was saying so I will rephrase it. Sometime my communication skills aren't to brilliant, I tend to post how I speak whihc is a bit arse abotu face sometimes anyway my point is:
No matter how much fossil fuel you use, your a selfish wanker.

Would you feel differently if you couldn't get down your street because 4x4's were parked on both sides of the road?
dirtysanta said:4x4s arent the only culprits though
example.
Ranhe Rover. Length 4788mm / width 1983mm
BMW 7 series Length 5179 / width 1902
not much in it really.

zenie said:Stop being fuckin pedantic – how many 7 series BMW’s do you see around ‘cos I don’t see many
You still haven’t said whether you would find it a problem living in the city and everyone drove them?
Not like us bitching and moaning is gonna achive anything anyway![]()
dirtysanta said:as many 4x4s.
Look here. The size issue is toilet. yes they are heavie and taller that arnt that much wider and longer than many large family cars. End of.
Im not bothered about them in cities no. They've never caused me a problem. I think it just nervous drivers (who are a fucking hazard themselves) who take issue with it.

Well, why don't you start a new thread and let us know how you're getting on?snadge said:word, I work for a company that build/repairs electrostatic precipitators, coal fired power stations use 'em along with cement works etc, they take the shite out of the smoke before it gets to the chimney.
I was working on a power station in scotland last year and we patched half the gaping holes ( the budget wasn't allocated to do it all ), leaving gaping holes in the ductwork leading up to the units, blasting out untreated coal fumes into the atmosphere .
Scottish power made obscene profits this year.
THIS is where people should be getting annoyed.

I work in Chelsea, and in some places 4x4s account for about 20-25% of all cars.zenie said:You have to be kidding about seeing as many 4x4's as 7 series surely?![]()
T & P said:I work in Chelsea, and in some places 4x4s account for about 20-25% of all cars.
My guess is that if there are, say 10,000 4x4s in Chelsea, about 9,500 of them have never even been off road once.
Go pass any given school at the back of Sloane Square at 3:30 pm and you realise the scale of the issue, and the immense absurdity and selfishness of using such machines to pick up your kids from school, or for any other city chores for that matter.
