There were three main band name types, I think - ones which combined something 'cute' with something 'aggro' (Babes in Toyland, Daisy Chainsaw, Mudhoney), there were the British indie names using a number and a thing (18 Wheeler, Shed Seven, etc) and then there were the totally random nouns.

And then there were carter lyrics, whcih were just silly pun after silly pun.
