Just how hard could it be to make my own bed?

My son has this bed...

...only £89 for a single (£129 for a double).

Unless you have very high ceilings you may have to saw the bottoms off the legs (guess how I found that out? ) but even with IKEA's complicated drawn instructions, it'd probably be less effort than making your own.

4 big fuck off bolts on the wall,and you can suspent the matress on ropes,like a big hammock. Total accsess underneath + cool hammock bed = win.

Repeat this to yourself every 5 minutes and have fun. The satisfaction when it's all finished is well worth the effort.

Sorry I just found that pretty funny.

One thing I would say, whilst building it yourself would mean you could do it to your own specs like you said, matresses still only come in specific sizes
