Just came off my bike

Did Geri go to work???:hmm:

I had to, because I had cheques to request - some of the people rely on the money I send to live on, and if I didn't go in to do it they wouldn't get them on Saturday and I'd get millions of moany phonecalls from people complaining on Monday morning.

I felt OK at work anyway, I think it helped to sit up straight at my desk slowly moving my head from side to side.

My head is still hurting though and I have reached the paracetemol limit.

Think how bad it'd be if you hadn't had a helmet!!

Still think you should get it checked out if it's still hurting after 24 hours.

I know, the reason I started wearing a helmet is because last time I fell off, I sailed straight over the handlebars and hit my head on the path (braking to avoid a squirrel). I had a lump the size of an egg that time.

I saw my doctor this afternoon (for something else) and I mentioned it to him, he didn't say I should get it checked out or anything.

Geri, when you brake hard it's vital to push yourself back into the saddle by locking your arms out (i.e. thrust the handlebars forward) - this stops the flipping

good article on bicycle braking

I don't think I could think quickly enough to remember that in an emergency situation.

Ouch :( So this is why you were asking about pain killers earlier. I hope it's better in the morning/lunchtime, otherwise you probably would be better to get it checked?

Ooh that sounds a bit nasty, especially banging your head like that. If you're registered with a GP then I reckon you should go and get yourself checked out with them. You know your body and if you feel you need painkillers then it needs checking really.

I mentioned it to the doctor yesterday, he said it was bound to hurt for a while. It's much better today, don't have a headache as such, just muscular pain in my neck. My bruises are quite impressive though.
